If reversing the polarity of the battery (presumably after disconnecting all the other polarity sensitive stuff) is used to damage trackers, it should be an easy matter to feed a tracker through a rectifier bridge. That way the tracker would get the right power no matter what the polarity was. I think that putting a single diode in the supply line would prevent damage due to reversed polarity, although it would cut the power when the polarity was wrong.
I am surprised that trackers are not built with rectifiers in the power supply as it would cost a few pence at manufacture and not much afterwards.

I agree with Tim Skerry, I seem to remember from school that a rectifier is simply made up of four diodes, which would be pretty cheap for the manufacturer to add.

DaveP - My uncle has had 2 station cars in the last 3 months, 1 has been stolen and 1 has been broken into on TWells common, the police do monitor the area so he was told.

just wondered as scooby turbos are cheaper in SA than in UK, SuzyQ's friend in SA was going to get one a few months back and was quite shocked at how much cheaper they were than in UK. Please don't take this the wrong way, I was just wondering.
Regardless, let's hope that they are cheaper out there and the drug dealing *******s get **** all for your car, thus they'll be as pissed off as you are. Little consolation I know, but hey.

BLP - Will post updates here so check back, so far they have been good and I was told by the broker that they are the quickest payers. However he also told me the premiums for Imprezas with AXA have risen by 40% recently so I doublt you will be re-insuring with them.
