Anyone know if we are still to expect these around the 12th/13th even know acording to the list some people havent paid and some have dropped out?

I think one of my disks has cracked so do need the new ones as soon as possible.

Gaz

Cryojock 10 September 2007 10:17 AM

Gaz, The discs that have been paid for are being treated as we speak. We expect to ship them on the 12th as promised, and you should get them on the 13th. We have gone ahead with a 20% deal, even though the numbers didn't get up the the required level, just to let as many people as possible try them out and hopefully leave feedback.

Cheers,

Ditto from me too Alan. big big thanks for this. I'm looking forward to making a little movie about the fitting and subsequent wearing in and stopping power of these discs.

Is this GB now finished?

Im about to get some new discs so this would be handy!?

cw42 13 September 2007 05:19 PM

I've emailed Alan @ NITRAC to ask him. I'm sure he'll be along to let you know :)
Officially it has closed, and the discs ordered should now be ready for shipping.

GazJenno 15 September 2007 03:00 PM

Has anyone recieved their disks yet? Mine still havent arrived :( I was hoping to fit them today...did try ringing Alan but he's away until the 18th according to his answering machine.

Rich_B 15 September 2007 03:02 PM

Not yet, haven't chased them up as not in too big a hurry.

cw42 15 September 2007 03:08 PM

I emailed Alan yesterday and as you say he's away, but did get a reply saying they'd be shipped yesterday. Not got them yet today, but as Rich B, I'm in no rush as I haven't got my pads yet :)

They will probably arrive on monday while I'm in bed after my night shift! :(

GazJenno 15 September 2007 04:44 PM

Have you got any pictures of them on your car Gaz?

ptr-555 31 December 2009 11:50 PM

hi there,

so this GB is over now question to the owners:
how are/were those Nitrac discs working?
would love to hear some reviews as I think I want to by a set of those.

thx

GazJenno 04 January 2010 08:06 PM

I thought they were excellent.... looked as good as any other performance disks but were far far cheaper! Still got the same set on and had no problems at all, was meant to give more feedback after I bed them in etc.

I was worried because I warped my old disks and thought I might do the same to these because I had not heard much about them but they worked fine out the box. Would deffo buy again for a fast road car, especially if the price is as low as it was here!

Hi Guys

Suggest some of you read this thread about EBC latest new pad materials, noting that Redstuff good for fast street but if youre going on a track select Yellows or the new EBC Bluestuff, all explained here and numerous test reports also to view if you sign to the thread you will learn. I have no issue with whos discs you use guys.

Cheers Andy

Some numbers on Nitrac/redstuff

Hi Folks,

Having read this page I splashed out on a full set of nitrac combi discs and redstuff pads for my 03 WRX Waggon.
That's 294mm fronts and 290mm rear.
I thought fitting doesn't sound too difficult so spend the money on the parts rather than fitting stock parts, took me 3 hours and wasn't difficult, just keep the right bits clean (buy some IPA). 400 mile run in completed.

So the numbers:
I usually test out any new car by hitting it hard at 80mph and pacing the stop distance (my stride is a yard).

Stock kit 2 years ago:
50% left on front, 60% on rear tyres; stop = 71 paces ~68m

Today on same piece of dry road and similar time of year
<1mm left on front, 90% on rear tyres; stop = 60 paces ~57m
(70->0 highway code = 96m)

Nitrac(drilled/groved)/EBC(Redstuff) looks like 15% shorter distance over stock - result. Ok its not that scientific but I'll take any proportion of 11m when heading for the back end of an artic.

Dr Foul youre a star

Thanks for your write up, an unsolicited further proof that what EBC offers these days is a great pad.

The Redstuff was upgraded about 16 months ago and the box end codes show you the latest grade which should say on the box end and printed on the back of the pads AF88/26. We have been manufacturing this grade since June 2009.

Remember though Red is a fast street pad, approved to ECE R 90 and totally street legal.

However if you go to the track the only issue you will have is lifetime.

On Track use comparing these pad materials

Redstuff would last 30-50 laps racing
Yellowstuff 60-100 laps
Bluestuff NDX (new material) 100 or more laps

Thats very approximate guys, comparing the three

I have no deep knowledge of Nitrac discs but all reports seem to indicate they are a good product, EBC does not make Cryo discs so if a cryo disc is what you want then Nitrac is a good choice according to this info.

If you want to read more about the EBC Bluestuff for track use, here is a link to a series of DOZENS of true independent tests proclaiming EBC Bluestuff to beat just about EVERYTHING else out there, not ONE failure, Not ONE complaint, Not ONE write up that was not positive.

https://www.scoobynet.com/wheels-tyr...ml#post9503339

Plus EBC Bluestuff costs less , it is readily available and far easier on rotors than many race pads

Thanks Guys
