Sorry to hear of the hassles... :(

I was hit by an out of control car on a pavement in my early twenties, threw 8ft in the air (witness reports) and landed on my head. Hospital were so busy treating the head injury (fair enough) that they never bothered to do anything about the broken toes..................until I tried to leave the hospital .. ouch

Nothing like a thorough hospital examination :rolleyes:

Please, get him to buy leathers if he plans to ride again! Hope he's on the mend soon. Also consider going private, this would all be sorted in a couple of weeks.

Sorry to hear about that Sara, I hope he recovers fully from all that. Wonder why he got short shrift at the hospital. Maybe they were snowed under but its a very poor way to treat him.

As Dave says, dont stop him from riding the bike when he is fully fit again. He will have learned a bit about defensive riding now. I fell off every bike I had when I was his age, still got a few gravel rash scars but I learned a lot how to avoid trouble in the end. :)

if they were busy i could understand his injuries getting missed. the A&E deptartment was empty apart from one patient. i was chatting to the staff about how quiet it was and was told its quiet at that time of the mornings usually.
anyway, i have been on to the hospital. they are sending him an appointment for january. i have spoken to the solicitor about a private scan, i have to get a letter from the hospital to confirm he needs an MRI then i should be given the go ahead to get a private one :thumb:

Why people use bikes I'll never know. Death traps waiting to happen and that's even if it's never your fault. Always some idiot out there going to do something to endager you.

That is one way to look at it STi Wanna, and it cannot be denied that you are very vulnerable on a 'bike. Nevertheless I would not have missed my 'bike riding for anything and i still ride one now-on nice days because I hate cleaning them and mine is virtually immaculate. If you survive the early days, you learn a great deal about using and reading the roads.

Sara, sorry to hear about your sons accident. I wish him a speedy recovery.
One thing which sticks in my mind is what my driving instructor told me, many moons ago. He said "I only teach you the basics just to get through the test, you don`t actually start to properly learn until afterwards".
I am just giving an outside viewpoint here Sara as I don`t know you or how old your son is. But he will learn from this I hope. We all know how naive young drivers can be as soon as they get a motorbike/ car. They think they own the roads etc. I am not putting your son in this category in anyway Sara. But as the saying goes, we all learn from our mistakes. :thumb:
