I prefer the South over the North mainly because (despite being born in Canada) that is where I'm from. Most of my family and friends being here help.
Both the North and South have their benefits and downsides, but neither can be classed as "better", IMO. As for the Midlands, my map says "Dragons be here..." so best avoided. ;) |
I can enjoy wherever I am, theres so many variables, plusses and minuses it is impossible to say, though I can say with conviction that London is not somewhere I would want to live, exciting, fun to visit but not a place to live, well unless you have tonnes of money.

i much prefer the north...born in manchester and have now moved further up north to live in Durham.would love to live in the highlands of Scotland... so beautiful up there !
I find living in Durham more relaxed... it's a slower pace of life up here compared to Manchester! and at least we can still use or hosepipes oop north ! :hjtwofing |

Live in the Midlands, hate the South, love the North.
South - Unfriendly people mostly stuck up there own arse and with little disposable income once they shelved out on the massive mortgage. (I'll make Cornwall/Devon an exception). Have family in Durham and I always enjoy going up North. You are made welcome in anyones home and always end up having a great time. No one cares how much their neighbour is earning or home much the houses round the corner are worth. People up North seem to realise that there are other things in life with far greater value.
