Ive had toyo t1r and they were ok and dunlop sports which were ok and have now switched to continental contisport contact 2's and they are great in dry and wet conditions,Better than both the dunlop and toyo's.

I've got Yokohama Parada 2 fitted to my Impreza, well chuffed with them !.
Mark. |
Currently running Pirelli Pzero Rosso on my P1. Fantastic tyre in both dry and wet conditions. They hold up better than the F1 during a trackday with equal grip. Only thing against these is there is very little rim protector on them.

The Ultrac is so grippy in the dry and just cuts through wet roads. Anyone else tried them ? Personly not ried them yet maybe next time, if they do a 225/35/18. Currently using T1-S, seem ok, but don't think there going to last long, seem quite soft. Previously used Eagle F1's but they were the old GSD2 pattern, very good would use again. |
I'm on my third set of P-Zero Nero's and don't have any complaints. They have good grip in the dry and my mates say I have great confidence in the wet with them on.
|
Had Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 on my classic miles better than any of the others i have tried, last longer as well got 6000miles out of the goodyear only 3500 out of the Toyo's
The others where BRIDGESTONE Potenza RE040 -did not like last for ever AVON ZZ3 - good grip in the dry ok in the wet but squel like mad! TOYO T1S - good grip in the dry good in the wet dont last long! TOYO T1R - very strange when new but get better, very good grip in the dry and very good in the wet Got an MY04 STi now with RE040 on the front and Pirrelli P-zeros on the back:eek: Just bought some RE070 to go on, they arrived today and it promtly started to snow!! LOL, will have to wait for the snow to melt before i dare put them on though. |
I've had The Potenzas that came with the car (ugh - OK in the dry but pants in the wet) and then switched to Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD2 then GSD3 and I love them, dry or wet or torrential. They've also lasted well.
|
Goodyear F1s for me :)
|
Currently running on Avon ZZ3's - no complaints so far. :thumb:

I'll stick my neck out and vote for bridgestone potenza RE050 original equipment jobbies. Okay in the dry, okay in the wet, last very well too.
Just stuck another set on (05 wrx ppp). :D |
The Hankook sport range are the new Toyos.
3 years ago no-one wanted Toyos-Then they heard how good they were! The prices on Toyos have now gone over double, there price 3 years ago. ENTER the Hankook Sport Range...... |
On my 4th or 5th set of Goodyear F1s - wouldn't buy anything else.
|
Michelin PS2 - 100% (buy some, you know you want to)
Goodyear F1 GS D2 - 90% (no longer available) Toyo T1 R - 80% Bridgestone RE040 (oem i think) - 75% Toyo T1 S - 70% Goodyear F1 GS D3 - 60% ps just my own opinion, but will be getting PS2's again!! |
My thoughts on the 4 sets of 225/40 18's I've used, first 2 on a 01 UK300, next 2 on a 03 WRX PPP.
Pirelli P-Zero Rosso - ok in dry, mediocre in damp/wet becoming dangerous when shallow tread pattern disappears just leaving plain rubber ribs and the grooves. High wear rate. Replaced with Nokian NRZi XL assymetric directional tyres - dry - very good, damp/wet conditions - very good. (Designed for rough Nordic roads which ours are turning into!) Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 XL - dry - very good, damp/wet - good ( Ran 17's on a heavier Legacy and they were better all round). Toyo Proxies T1's - dry - very good, damp/wet - good (Think they just edge it over the F1's) Of those I've used I found the Nokians to be the best all round tyre with a good life expectancy too. They had the best wheel protection bead and gave a more positive steering feel. Only shame is they stopped making them. May give the replacement NRY a try next. |

TREG: I have not added to the tally for your posting because I'm not sure what tyre you are voting for eactly but let me know and I'll adjust the tally. ru': I have added an entry for the RE050. Cosmic, it was the T1S not the R. missed the shift key when typing!

That's on a heavy fwd car with about 105bhp. I wouldn't let a scobby even look at them I can tell you that you'll struggle to find a significantly better all round tyre on a Scooby! I've had them on mine for a few months now and I think they're great; certainly better than the stock Bridgestones. Ns04 |

Toyo T1 S's are scary in the dry and the wet got them on an 02 newage.
|
RE 040 thumb up in the dry and cornering (poor on snow)
RE 070 perfect |
Bridgestone RE 070's are excellent!!. They can handle lots of power out of bends in the wet and the dry. Subaru fit them standard so why change to another make! :wonder:
|
I have Pirelli P Zeros on a classic wagon, love them in the dry, but agree they are dodgy in the wet - understeer like mad. Have not had the chance to change them yet, so am keeping a keen eye on this thread.
|
Pirelli PZero Neros & Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's get gold stars from me ... it's only the price that leaves a bitter aftertaste :(

I've got some Dunlop sport 9000 fitted to my03 WRX PPP.
They're grrrrrrrrrrreat ! |
I've got Pirelli p6000's on my WRX '00 bug/blobeye (whichever it is!) and they seem fine in the dry and cats & dogs rain, but not impressed when the roads are damp.
Understeers like a pig, and braking very twitchy. Had understeer at about 15-20 on damp road and ended up doing 4K of damage! Maybe I should get driving lessons :o All I know is the new-age Fiesta loan car I had gripped like Velcro in the same conditions. Anyone got any copies of MaxxPower?:D |
just had 4 new avon zz3`s no problems so far.
