Gussie,

Thanks very much for your efforts in getting me a lift to donno on sunday, but it looks like I might have to give it a miss. I've been asked to work on sunday, and at double time (Can't pass up £600 for a days work!) well, do I need to go any further....?

Thanks again for your efforts, and I'll buy you a pint on the 25th! :-)

Karlos

Mr.Cookie 15 February 2001 09:20 PM

Gussie

Without a shadow of doubt i will be there http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

The Churchillian is closed!!!

SHOCK! HORROR! Drove past the Churchillian this morning on the way to work and it's completely boarded up for refit!!!!!!!!

It certainly doesn't look like it's going to be open for the 25th....

Anyone got an idea of a different venue?

Karlos

phill chinn 16 February 2001 09:14 AM

how about just across the road, at the view point were the burger bar is ? ( good tea ) plenty of parking and as the name suggests a good view, but no beer !! although we could always drive some were else ??

Karlos 16 February 2001 11:03 AM

Phil,

Being a stereo-typical I.T. "pie eater" I think this is a fantastic idea. However, I hope no one has a scooby that's too low as that carpark is a bit of a shambles.

Karlos

Gussie Cup 16 February 2001 11:25 AM

Opposite the Churchillian then.

How bad is the car-park? My Scoob is v.low and I don't want to lose my exhaust!!

Karlos - Sorry to hear you can't make it - see you on 25th.

Ben

phill chinn 16 February 2001 01:38 PM

Karlos/Gussie
They have resurfaced it recently, it's a bit bumpy off the tarmac, but even this isn't to bad, I think there may be a speed hump half way along, but you can go round it, or come in from the other end, so not to much to worry about! A lot of the RS and corsa boys get up there of an evening with their lower motors, so it should be ok.

How about the clarence pub on southsea sea front big carpark nice pub top grub and a nice view of the sea just a suggestion

Daren

scooby-tc 16 February 2001 06:54 PM

Ok thought of another one what about the farmhouse on the eastern road big carpark nice food and super beer and generous friut machines and a pool room

Gussie Cup 17 February 2001 03:58 PM

Hang on, Hang on...!

If its OK (car-parkwise)at that place opposite the Churchillian, shall we meet there anyway?

It was the easiest place that everyone agreed on and Mr.Cookie kindly provided a map etc so....... 12pm, 25th Feb, opposite Churchillian. Everyone OK with that? We can try a different place the next time if it turns out to be cr@p.

Scooby-tc, did I see your car (Silver WRX, number plate below air intake) at the Quays meet last Sunday?

scooby-tc 17 February 2001 05:59 PM

Yes Ben it was my silver wrx at quays only it looks better now ive just fitted my sti 6 rear wing i think we should all meet up at the view point carpark opposite the churchillian then move somewhere else coz it is quite a small carpark really and we might fill it very early on

Stuart Page 18 February 2001 11:48 AM

Hi People, Churchillian IS open for business, you just gotta use the back door instead of the front! Its closed in March for the refit, but they are keeping it open as long as possible! Beer (I mean a shandy) is still on the menu!!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Karlos 19 February 2001 10:39 AM

Gents,

Drove past the Churchillian this morning, and, although still looking like a building in Baghdad, there is a big sign outside now saying "open all day during renovation!"

Hooray!

We can still have a beer!

Karlos

Jo Peters 20 February 2001 09:56 AM

So ..... is it the Churchillian then or the car park opposite ?????

Jo

Gussie Cup 20 February 2001 11:12 AM

If the building work hasn't taken up the car-park, then I think the Churchillian is a good bet. Is there still room to park there?

phill chinn 20 February 2001 01:58 PM

i belive it's very popular for Sunday lunch,so the may be a lack of parking out the front of the pub, but last time we parked round the back and people missed it, so it may be a case of all over the view point, or some round the back and some round the front of the pub ????

Al Bundy 20 February 2001 03:35 PM

Hi people, I would be interested to come to pompey to meet likewise scooby nutters. I have a dutch GT left hooker and have been trying to get to meets ever since. I go back to Germany sunday night (driving) but would like to bring down the love of my life (and my girlfriend!) to see what all the fuss is about. Could someone E mail the details please.
Cheers Al.

phill chinn 20 February 2001 06:15 PM

AL, check your mail.

scooby-tc 20 February 2001 09:47 PM

So whats the plan for sunday then are we meeting at the churchillian and staying there or are we moving to a bigger location. Its just that im playing footie in the morning and may not get there till about 1 ish and i dont want to miss everyone

phill chinn 21 February 2001 08:18 AM

AL, I had the mail I sent to you returned ? head for Portsmouth, then ask anyone where the view point or the churchillian pub is, they should point you in the right direction.
or get to Portsmouth and ring me on my mobile 07718 161012

Gussie Cup 21 February 2001 10:25 AM

Theres a map on the first page of this thread..... http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

As for anyone unsure of where we're meeting, I reckon we go for the Churchillian first - if the car-parks too small, we can always move over the road to the viewing point.

Al Bundy 21 February 2001 05:52 PM

Cheers! I'll be there. You can't miss my scoob, it's black with gold seventeens, large wing and boy racer graphics on the windeez.

Gussie Cup 22 February 2001 04:45 PM

So, are we all agreed for Sunday?

12-ish
Churchillian (provided the car-park isn't too full)
If it proves a nightmare then we move to the viewing point opposite

Roll-call time.........
Whos coming and what are you driving?

I'm in a MY94 Black WRX - low with nice cheesy gold 17" Superturismos http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Ben

scooby-tc 22 February 2001 04:53 PM

Ill be there.Silver MY93 WRX number plate on bottom of the bumper under the air intake STI 6 rear wing and most importantly a pink jap I on the grille (had to be done)

Aero 22 February 2001 05:07 PM

12:00 on the 25th it is...

MY94 WRX RA in white (looks like a GL)

So, now I've got to wash and wax the scoob, finish my driving lights, tighten the turbo housing to stop it rattling, and clear a hangover before 11:00 on Sunday.

Be prepared to see a dirty scoob with wires all over under the bonnet, making a rattling noise.

g man 25 February 2001 01:12 AM

Karlos 25 February 2001 01:45 AM

Fella's,

Keep your eyes open for a COMPLETELY standard MY96' in red with a bashed rear bumper (on both corners I still cannot believe my wife's driving is that bad!) You'll know it's me, 'cause when I turn off the ignition you can here the broken heat shield rattle for miles around!! Roll on the 15th and my visit to Scoobysport.... :-)

Karlos

PS - Does anyone know the bloke who drove his scooby off the hill on thursday night? Read it in the Pompey News on friday... Siver MY99/00 (guessing 'cause of spoiler)

g man 25 February 2001 02:17 AM

Guys or Girls, please help me ,is this still on or what because me and my homies from London want to stretch our legs (turbo`s) tommorrow??? peace out

Gussie Cup 25 February 2001 09:17 AM

G man - Still planning on being there myself! It'll be interesting to see the turn-out - its such a good day weather-wise that it must be worth the drive...... http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Well, see you all there! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
