Bob I disagree the gun may be ok but it depends what condition it is in and if it works at all when received from the hire company, if it doesnt work you will get a refund no problem but its a waste of time for the people who have gathered together to have the testing done.

And who has had the traffic police training or extensive expereince with speed guns and will operate the speed gun and take the potential hassle from the police if they see someone pointing a gun at cars ?.

Just a unnecsary risk considering the money saved is tiny.

If you can confirm what method is being used and where the location is i will pay the deposit by bank transfer,

Nevetas 07 October 2004 07:35 PM

Where abouts is the N London test happening?

I've been tested by this guy before, and he knows his stuff...

Hoppy 08 October 2004 11:10 AM

Do we know exactly where and exactly when yet?

msp1 08 October 2004 02:24 PM

Interested

I may be taking the wife to London on the weekend of the 17th, would be interested in attending the test if this is the final date. How long to get from Hammersmith to the location? No probs doing a balance transfer if the date/distance are agreeable.

Any other date and travelling from S Wales seems a tad too far :(

Cheers

Mike

Apologies for not being online much lately.

Having some problems with the guy who is supposed to be doing the testing as he is being iffy about how many people are confirmed. Therefore as a B Plan I will look into hiring his equipment or some decent gear from a hire shop.

Doesnt have an effect on the details of the GB.

Pbee: Dont worry if we have to go with Plan B the Laser Gun will be tested prior to the the testing day.

N.London location: Meet location Sunday AM (time to be confirmed)@ Baldock Services A1 (m). Testing will take place on the A507 (@baldock services) which has the ample room for testing etc.

Coventry location to be confirmed. Open to suggestions from people familiar with coventry. Testing will be in the afternoon poss with drinks/meet @ a nearby pub.

bob, I'd be interested in this test day. I'm getting an LRC100 fitted on wednesday.

Either coventry or north london would be fine for me, I'm in Northampton.

Right seem to be having some difficulties with plan a, b & c

Plan a & b are out the window...plan c is booked out till 2 months from now....I've only found one hire shop with them and they only have one unit within the whole company and its booked out till 6 weeks time.

Sorry people. :( Tried my best, but it seems lack of positives has led to this GB being cancelled.

The two people who have left deposits pls email me with addresses so that it can be returned.

Will make a last ditch attempt tommorow morning with this one other place, but I dont hold much hope.

Bob :(

Hi Bob

Is it worth trying one from HSS Hire. £126 for the weekend works out at £11/head. I can try and get one in S Wales if you want, but I would have to test it on my LRC first, assuming it's working.

Cheers

Mike

Found this as well, based in London and Bristol http://www.roadrunner-tca.co.uk/hire.html

Just a quick tip for you guys, go and buy a Osprey laser range finder with speed and test it your self...it works in exactly the same way as a Police Laser.
