Got the shox and springs ready to go on but still waiting for the braided hoses to arrive before fitting, Already have the whiteline bushes and links.

getting the Geometry done after 2 weeks of settling in.:)

Hopefully just before Curborough:)

chrome 10 October 2004 07:25 PM

forgot to ask- on the rears- is the setting that's used at the "12'o clock" position?
as there's no marking etc..

cw42 10 October 2004 07:30 PM

yes chrome, thats right. If you look carefully, you can make out a raised bit @ 12 oclock position, that indicates where to position the dial.
having fun yet? :)

chrome 10 October 2004 07:43 PM

ohhhhhhhhhhh yes :D
I just drove back from Pod...

Pod>Market Harboro'>Melton (via langtons- what a great road!)>nottingham

the first 2 sections of that were fun fun fun!
oh, and 1.48 bar via the AVCR helped :norty:

ta Chris- see you sunday
(any recommendations for damper settings in that neck of the woods?
(currently running 2 front, 4 rear)

Barnesy 10 October 2004 09:57 PM

Running mine at 3 front and 6 rear, nice and tight just how I like it:D
On the rears there is a black arrow @ 12 o clock above the dial.
Car feels so much better now, feels very similar to my old 106 gti, going to get my geometry done in a couple of weeks.

cw42 27 October 2004 09:28 AM

agree with andy, got some footage i'll upload later of my car in action.
4 front 8 rear, didnt feel that hard on the track, but felt great in the corners. :)
chris.

chrome 27 October 2004 12:16 PM

whereas I found 4 + 8 too hard and it promoted *too much* oversteer on mine; but then I'm using a 24mm rear ARB..
3+6 seem to work better with my chassis mods..
oh, and an ALK makes it sooooooo much better- understeer? what understeer? :norty:

Barnesy 27 October 2004 02:53 PM

Yes, agree with the above on the track. I didn't get any understeer, plenty of oversteer though :D

Huxley 28 October 2004 09:02 PM

We had ours set on 3 Front and 6 rear but then my Gas discharge HID bulbs fell out of their holders in the headlamps

And err indraws complained about her boobs bouncing too much

So now on wuss mode 2 Front 4 Rear as for the shocks in general the are well worth the money :D:D:D:D:D

chrome 28 October 2004 09:44 PM

I use 3+6 can I borrow yer wife to check ? :norty:

Barnesy 28 October 2004 10:26 PM

Nothing wrong with bouncing boobs :D:D

cw42 28 October 2004 10:58 PM

Anthony's_Scooby 11 November 2004 01:10 PM

Anyone had problems with there shocks since fitting them?

I seem to be getting a noise from one of the rear ones, it can only be described as a escaping gas. Its not there when the car is stationary and seems to go away as the shock warms up ie have drive a few miles?

Any ideas, ways to test?

Thanks Anthony

chrome 11 November 2004 02:21 PM

fine here.
sorry- not much help.

cw42 11 November 2004 11:33 PM

no probs here, just adjusted back to 3 front, 6 rear for the "raid across the border" run on sat/sun :)
How about getting it on a rolling road, and getting someone to jump up and down in the boot?
