Out of interest, when I catch the BBS saying it's down for maintenance, what's being done?

The content is great but the forum software is poo....IMHO just loads of little things that have already been mentioned....Etc on the whole livable loads of room for improvement tho.

If you have a gripe, post up in "bugs or feature requests" best place for it.

Good question :)

It's usually database work of some sort, archiving logs, etc. Or just general server maintanence when we need the load to be as low as possible to perform certain tasks, etc.

It is also set to default to off if there is a problem and has to be restarted. This is a fail safe in-case there is a problem and we can't get control of the server due to high traffic, etc.

Basically, it could be almost anything.
