yup same if it understeers, esp in the wet lift you foot gently off the throttle and it does steer if you keep the power on it will go straight on as its a 50/50 split 4 wd ie in the wet it almost steers like a front wheel drive car, ive nearly crashed it when i first got it, but a very good mate took me out in it and showed me how to drive it properly ,remember take foot off accelerator gently ok or it can shake all over the place, once youve got the line back you can absolutly nail it out of the corner or round aboud take's practice but once mastered WOW try it ok power off gent as soon as it understeers, it will then grip pull its self back then nail it out ok ,hope this helps i was shown how it works if i hadnt i prob would of sold or crashed it ok

Jeremy,Many people did notice a change and it has been discussed at length. I would say that the new shape had more front end grip and about the same amount of feel. The front sub frame on the new shape doesn't have anything to do with the steering, it's for crash protection only and I suspect that the S202 has the same front end mods as the STi 8 - namely mainly different bushes, which improve feel and predictabiliy.

I've already changed this on my last two Scoobs so the S202 and the STi 8 have caught up with changes a lot of us make anyway :)

Maybe your right about the steering being about the same, I didn't notice to much difference myself- though I had the 2.5RS. But the lack of feel- to drive quickly on challenging roads, was an idea I got from John Barker over at Evo, who swears up and down every time he drives any new variant of the Impreza, that they simply do not provide the communication or confidence which the RB-5 and P1 did. And while I like so many of us think many auto journalists are full of sh%t, I believe that Barker is one of the very best and is a great driver to boot. If Barker is right on some levels (granted we can all agree that the new cars understeer less, have more grip, ride better, are more poised etc.) about the differences between the two generations, it sure would be interesting to figure out why/how the differences exist.

Actually I'm told by some (though they may be wrong) that the 202 does away with a front-subframe all-together. Could this be right? Anyone actually seen one up close to know for sure?

Err, scuse for being ill informed whats a 202 please, how much? Is it MY03? D'oh. Anyway got the car back nice shiny new alloy the boyz did a great job tweaked a few things it all feels much tighter now!! Thanks for all the help everyone.
