It might be possible on iphones but you need to know what you are doing and it's certainly not easy or comparable to just taking the back off and swapping the battery and putting the back on in a matter of seconds.

What Samsung are you using? I just had a look at the Galaxy S6 on YouTube and swapping the battery requires the use of a hot air gun.

Note 4. The S6 and Note 5 were Samsung experimenting with taking away the removable battery and SD card slot which backfired as their customers want this feature and they reinstated it for the S7 and Note 7.

JackClark 16 October 2016 10:40 AM

Neither of those have a removable battery.

An0n0m0us 16 October 2016 12:00 PM

Jack reread it, that's exactly what I said.

They are the only year Samsung tried it (ie not having a removable battery and SD slot) and it wasn't a success hence the removable battery and SD slot returning in the S7 and Note 7.

If Apple made the batteries removable I would consider returning to iphone ownership, sd card slot isn't a deal breaker for me but longevity of the device is and that means having the option to replace an ageing degrading battery after 18 months to 2 years.

JackClark 16 October 2016 12:06 PM

The Note 7 and S7 don't have removable battery.

An0n0m0us 16 October 2016 04:55 PM

My mistake then it's just the sd card slot that has returned. I thought i'd read somewhere the removable battery had returned too. Well that's another reason why my Note 4 will be kept going as long as possible and I still have my S3 as the battery life is the main reason why any phone gets to a point where it needs replacing.

My Note 4 is back to a full 2 days use on 1 charge with a replacement Anker battery and that has saved me either buying a new phone or taking to to a 3rd party phone shop to butcher to put a new battery in if it had been a sealed unit.

JackClark 16 October 2016 05:44 PM

Anker batteries are awesome. I have a pretty big one for camping, keeps me going for days.

An0n0m0us 16 October 2016 06:27 PM

Not only are they great battery life but also a great price and no risk in buying a rip off of a Samsung one which are everywhere.

is it possible note 5 is keeping value , because note 7 is dead donkey effectively

The Note 5 always held value, especially the 64GB Octa core. Idiots here do not know anything about the Note 5.
The Note 7 could become a collectors item in retrospect.

dpb 16 October 2016 07:29 PM

lets face it - only a diehard plonker would give over 500 odd quid !

second hand

You know absolutely nothing about the Note 5. Have you seen its specifications.

Another iSheep clone here

An0n0m0us 16 October 2016 10:07 PM

The Note 5 wasn't sold in the UK, doesn't have a removable battery or an SD card slot and so compared to my Note 4 it had absolutely no attraction to me and still doesn't. In my opinion the 4 is still the best Note made with what it offers.

dpb 16 October 2016 10:15 PM

Yet , apparently , some numbskull gave over 500 notes for toffees second hand example !

Sure you did, we believe you. Can't get £300 on eBay but you can find someone to pay £200 more.

I feel sorry for you and a bit guilty, you obviously have issues and I've been purposefully pushing your buttons to keep you on the hook. I'll try to hold back if you promise to see a doctor.

Here you go you Troll

What is this you are saying about selling for £100s more, we all know that the 6S plus cost more than the Note 7 on launch, not much of a difference between them now is there? so this BS about Apple holding value is just that

BS

Sucks to be you Jack.

Can you even get sleep at night over Apple? I wonder are you mentally ill.

Have you done any price checks yet for Galaxy Note 5? Guess the iphone 6 still goes for 100s more.

That article is not even correct as Samsung have been making CPUs for years, Apple don't strictly make them anyway. Samsung and TSMC make them for Apple.

People here really don't have a clue.

That sounds great, good for Huawei making the effort to design their own processor. No mean feat.
