At least it gave you plenty of time to save up.:lol1:

I would imagine a great deal depends on how it's going to be used, in a road car there aren't too many places you'd be kicking the arse out of it for prolonged periods, it would just be the odd squirt here and there for 5 / 10 mins at a time max unless on a track day or at the ring, but anyone who takes a standard engine close to 500bhp and then regularly kicks the arse out of it on track is most definitely on borrowed time and the same can also be said of a built engine. I'd say most would be happy to get circa 20k under those circumstances.

If taken care of properly and not driven like a boyracer it should last all the same, but that's the rub right there,to get the best out of modified engines meticulous servicing and maintenance plus a little mechanical sympathy;) has to be applied, like anything you use continuously hard,if not treated right be prepared for the engine to grenade itself.SJ.

sully wrc 14 September 2014 01:50 PM

how much for the turbo?

b3nmw 14 September 2014 06:42 PM

£1600 ish from scoobyclinic

fat-thomas 14 September 2014 06:45 PM

you do realise to get the maximum benefit from the turbo you really need fmic, tubular headers and uppipe or its going to be restricted.

b3nmw 14 September 2014 06:51 PM

Up pipe is on the list and ported headers, will contact as performance for these. Going to try sticking with the top mount

no good over 400 bhp, you really need all the supporting mods to support the turbo or its a waste of money.

personally on that turbo you need rcm/gt spec headers, harvey uppipe, fmic and obviously appropriate map and injectors.

the mods above are around another 1k

b3nmw 20 September 2014 06:08 PM

Does any 1 no the correct samco hose to fit an rcm induction kit as there are 2 hose
Sizes?

RS_Matt 20 September 2014 06:48 PM

Upgrading the actuator vacuum hose to silicone might be a good safety mod.

b3nmw 01 October 2014 07:54 PM

Would I need rcm headers or could ported ones be okay at 400 ish?

b3nmw 01 October 2014 07:56 PM

Would the rcm headers crack?

Andy Forrest ran/runs a TMIC on one of his track orientated scoobs, can't remember the power levels, certainly 400-450 I expect. He said it was a good set up but needed a cooling down lap every 2-3 laps or something along those lines.

It was a feature car in Jap Performance magazine.

b3nmw 13 October 2014 01:19 PM

Brakes will need looking at. Also got a Harvey smith up pipe 3 bolt
