My neighbour has just got back from holiday. He's been away for two weeks. He's a policeman. His patch? Brixton. He's not in tonight but tells me he expecting a call.

Stay safe Giles.

After all I have seem so far, just can't stop being furious toward these rioters, sadly you just can not talk sense to some people, think about it, it's so scary living in a society with these rioters day in day out, when opportunity arise, they will turn into wild animal and eat you alive, they dont need dignity, what on earth are these people thinking, are they mad or something? The government need to do something about it now, maybe China have a better solution, now, who complaint about China's human-right issue? Is human-right protecting these rioters or destroying the society?

I think there's just a little bit of a difference between hooligan rioters and looters running amok on the streets of the UK and people losng their freedom for simply daring to speak out against their rulers :Whatever_

They're targeting the "rich people who have businesses ..."... Double :brickwall :brickwall So who the h3ll do they think pays for them to be on the social all the time??? As you say, what the h3ll do you do with such retards???

Heard some 'community youth worker', or some such, on Sky earlier. "Yeah, I don' think you can defend their actions (looting, robbery, vandalism, etc) but you need to look at why they feel so disenfranchised ..' ... :Suspiciou

No. You need to lock them up for a long time if found guilty of an offence! End of.

During the 1985 riots, a relative, copper in the Met training riot police in Greenwich, I remember him saying they had two brand new water cannons mothballed down at Greenwich because they weren't allowed to use them, probably sold them on to a country with balls.

bobby chang 09 August 2011 04:50 PM

No enforcement can deal with these animal so far? The police can not touch them because of human-right? but they can do anything, that's also human-right? just lock them up either in prison or in a zoo. :-)

bobby chang 09 August 2011 04:54 PM

OR send in Charles Bronson.

Absolutely. I'm finding it incredibly frustrating that observers from around the world are viewing this as some kind of uprising. Uprising?! :cuckoo:

As I mentioned in the other thread, we need to tread very carefully in terms of our response to these criminals, not because they're deserving of lenience, but because the eyes of the world are upon us. Hostile regimes around the planet will spin and spin this. Iran and others are already describing the riots as "demonstrations"; our Government have to keep half an eye on events overseas and need to make sure it can maintain the moral high-ground and credibilty when calling for "restraint" in NA, the Med and the ME. Democracy's at stake.

Wife just phoned me to tell me that my neighbour knocked for me, apparently a lot of the locals are getting together along the high street later to make sure our young uns don't get any funny ideas.

Very tempted to join when I get home.

Richy P1984 09 August 2011 05:15 PM

Well they already smashed up one of my locals in Ealing, set the opposite mini supermarket on fire, and burnt a number of cars out. Hopefully they will move on and not come back for more.

I haven't seen too much of that. Most of the news that I've seen (here in America) point to civil unrest rather than an uprising. Quite a few are blaming the Governments 'cuts' (no, I didn't miss an 'n') on the riots.

On the other hand, there are quite a few American commentators saying they don't understand why the Police and/or Army don't go in and shoot them all ...

Sure, it's tending to come from 'Arab Spring' bloggers who are seeing events through that lense. It's why, in my view, our leadership have to be sensitive to their perception - perception is everything. Very tricky.

The truth is these people are utter retards who have had nothing going from them even before the economic crisis. Their parents could not care less about them, and they have grown up under a government that has mollycoddled them into believing that they are the real victims and a justice system that has handed out truly pathetic sentences.

My missus manages a shop and most of these thieving little sh1ts that get caught stealing just get banned now as whenever the police were involved and the thieves arrested. They would be out a few hours later to kick the windows in . And if the case ever got to court it would be a slap on the wrist by the time the defense spun the disadvantaged background bullsh1t.

So true!

SirFozzalot 09 August 2011 05:42 PM

I'm getting more and more annoyed, angry and frustrated as I see and hear more reports of what has been happening in more detail.

I can't believe how thick most of these people really are, especially after hearing some being interviewed. If they are the future then I really do despair. :(

I reckon we should reunite Les with his Vulcan and send him in to Napalm the lot of them ;)

No it's not tricky. The people they serve want them to act decisively against the scumbags. We don't give a flying t*ss whether the Yanks or anyone else sees this as 'politically correct' or a state act of wanton violence. As long as "we" think they've done the right thing the rest of the world can go hang!

My feelings exactly, but, alas, my thoughts say otherwise.
