Hi, Oilman could you help me please. I have bought a 2002 impreza 2.0 non turbo awd and I would like to get it serviced. My questions are as follows, 1:what grade engine oil do I need and how many litres and what brand do you recommend, 2: what gear oil do I need and how many litres would do it, I want to do diff also so would it be same in the rear diff also. Thanks in advance :). P.s if this helps the guy before me put a straight through exhaust on, that so far is the only mod but later I would like to put an air induction kit on.
I would use a 5w-40 synthetic as the best option for the engine. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-656-5w-40.aspx Out of those, the best ones are the Fuchs/Silkolene Pro S, Millers CFS NT/CFS, Motul 300V, Redline and Gulf Competition. The Motul 8100 X-Cess, Millers XFS, Shell Helix, Fuchs Supersyn and Mobil Super 3000 are good, cheaper alternatives. As a budget choice, a 10w-40 will be fine and I would either go for the Fuchs Syn MC, Shell Helix, Millers Trident, Castrol Magnatec, Mobil Super 2000 or Motul 6100 http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-657-10w-40.aspx You need a 75w-90 for the gearbox and diff and here are the ones we have. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-673-75w-...ion-fluid.aspx If you want to go for the best, the Millers CRX 75w-90 NT, Gulf Competition, Motul Gear 300, Red Line 75w-90NS and Millers TRX are ideal for the gearbox. The Castrol Universal, Motul Motylgear and Fuchs Gear Syn are all decent alternatives. The Fuchs Syn 5, Millers CRX, Redline 75w-90 GL5, Motul Gear 300 and Gulf Competition are ideal for the diff. The Fuchs Sintopoid, Castrol Syntrax Longlife, Millers TRX, Motul Motylgear, Mobil SHC and Amsoil FGR are also good choices. Cheers Tim |

Model v reg import 99/00 wagon Mileage 100k Modifications none Bearing in mind winters on its way and its a weekend motor Thanks oilman |
I would go for a 5w-40 synthetic as that will give good cold start protection, especially in the winter.

Subaru
wrx sti 2005 80k Running 1.65bar at 431hp Road use. Engine oil recommendation. |
A 10w-50 is ideal for your car and these are the ones that we stock.
http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-659-10w-50.aspx The Nanodrive CFS is, on paper, the best oil available, but the Pro S and CFS are both really good oils, so all are good choices for your car. Cheers Tim |
Gearbox and Rear diff oil on 03 sti jdm with dccd

Hi oilman
Model: JDM Impreza 1998 STI Version 4 Engine type: EJ20 Driving style: off-road - rally type Any other information that may be relevant: no hp mods - running stock 300hp I will install oil cooling system and I am planning to run the car on LPG (dont know if that makes a difference to oil choice) I need oil for everything that needs oil :) Engine, brakes, diffs etc As for the engine, at what temperatures the oil works best? I understand that temp cant be too high, but also shouldnt be too low, right? Thanks |

The best fluids for the brakes and clutch are the Castrol SRF, Motul RBF660 and Gulf RF1000. The Motul RBF600, Gulf RF800, Millers 300 Plus and Fuchs Pro Race are close to those, but don't have quite as high boiling points. The next step down (in performance terms), but still an upgrade over standard are the Gulf Racing 5.1, Motul DOT 5.1 and Castrol React Performance. Any of the other DOT4 fluids we have are fine to use as a standard choice. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-450-brak...tch-fluid.aspx The best coolants are the Motul Inugel Optimal or Fuchs Pro Cool, but the Fuchs ESK, Millers Alpine, Castrol Radicool and Gulf are all fine as cheaper alternatives. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-458-coolant-antifreeze.aspx Cheers Tim |

Hi
In that case, I'd use this in the gearbox http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-899-motu...ter-based.aspx The diff needs a SAE90 LSD oil, like the Fuchs Titan Race Gear 90LS, Castrol Axle Z or Motul 90PA. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-679-sae-90-gear-oils.aspx Cheers Tim |
Just ordered it cheers

Hi
It needs an ATF fluid and the best options are the Amsoil ATF, Red Line D4 or Fuchs ATF6000, although the others are fine as cheaper alternatives. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-771-dexron-iii.aspx Cheers Tim |
