Get back to reading the Guardian and stop preaching.
Your attitude is the same as those who think that the way to stop persistant young offenders is not to put them in borstal but to give them a safari holiday or 2 weeks at Disneyworld.
Yes, I will be giving her details to the police, but I don't hold out too much hope of an arrest or conviction...

its not a mistake though, not a typo, its premeditated. Thats NOT a mistake.

In reply..

If the money comes back...
WHY let her just do it again, which she probably would.
Im not sure the police would get called in, and if they were, what would happen. Our weak CPS would dismiss it anyway.

Based on that I take back my comment on the police, but believe its every mans right to take the course of action they choose.

Do criminals found guilty of crimes get off having their picture printed in the paper?

C0S 01 December 2007 02:14 PM

oh sorry... i missed the part of the registration form that stated when joining i became a member of the undercover internet police and swore to serve and protect the internet and carry out justice in the name of scoobynet

gary1208 01 December 2007 02:15 PM

If I do get the money back, it will be from Paypals Buyer Protection Policy, not from her, so everyone will be paying in some small way with their Paypal fees, that is why I will be taking it to the police, understand now?

jaya 01 December 2007 02:16 PM

She deserves to be named and shamed..she knew that she was robbing people of their money..take it all the wayyyyy..she probably got away with it before a few times..this time she went into the lions den..and this lion just happened to have alot of scooby lion mates, and now shes getting her head bitten off..teach her not to do it AGAINN.. :hjtwofing

You said yourself you would choose to go and knock on her door. Is that not in itself a threatening action (as they chose NOT to make it available for home collection), and also taking matters into your own hands.

Same principal, bigger scale.

Not changed really mate, never liked piss takers, and she takes the piss. Sorry we dont agree on this one dude, but all I have said is nothing personal fella.
Tbh I thought you would have been swayed more on this side than the other.

Stay safe on the bike mate.

gary1208 01 December 2007 02:21 PM

Not if he thinks its ok to let ebay scammers off the hook when you have them hook line and sinker.

In this case the police would tell you to go and see a solicitor and take her to the small claims court. That will incur you further expense and time and may not even get a positive result. This method is by far the best if you want your money back. She put her details on the web for all to see and then decided to be stupid enough to rip people off, not once but at least 3 times we know about on here. Thats her tough luck and no one is doing anything wrong here except her.

gary1208 01 December 2007 02:37 PM

I couldn't resist, sorry

Snazy 01 December 2007 02:39 PM

Bravo, trust me mate, its just one of those things he disagrees on. But an all round nice guy, known for years.

However that said, I stand by my guns, and feel this is not overkill as such, but is an extreme reaction. And something the net needs more of.

wwp8 01 December 2007 02:53 PM

the last 2 pages have become abit off hand!

i now have an odd feeling that the new member could well be hightee's friend

i have been scammed before , so i know how Chris feel, the anger in him
the way WE the innocent people who worked hard for out money , saved our pennies to buy something for our pleasure
What made me more angry with Chris' Scammer is SHE is VERY SMUG, (read the first post on page 1)
regardless of male or female age or anything else, a scam is a scam , you can't say i got scammed but cos shes a girl , i let her off, then why should there be any LAW!
i agree it got kinda out of hand.

BUT this wasn't asked off by Chris, he wanted to Rant about it on here!
which normally a forum has
however lets put it this way, at least any other would be scammers, can see this and may frighten them from trying to scam anyone again.

this has now become too much of a dog bites dog situation.

Unless you have been scammed before i doubt you know the proper feelings.

PS. Snazy, i'm looking forward to your ebay scam site!

Snazy 01 December 2007 03:00 PM

Im looking forward to it too mate, lets see if it does not run out of steam first eh lol.

As for Dave being a friend of Hightee, I would hope he would have told me, but he is just having his say at the end of the day.

NAh, i don't really mean it that way, but its kinda wierd how someone joins a forum and rants at everyone else,

I was wondering if it was the same Cos we both knew.
Guess it is.
Cos mate, you and I both know what you did to that guy who was making innapropriate advances to your missus, so i know you believe in just deserts:notworthy
Can i ask what you would have done had she scammed you out of your hard earned?
astraboy.

Kieran_Burns 01 December 2007 03:15 PM

I think that COS has missed a major point here...

If a Court finds someone guilty of a crime the punishment will involve compensation for the victim, AND a specific punishment for the criminal.

Now this HighTee woman has committed a crime. Theft and attempted theft. Both of which would involve paying compensation to the victim (why should they be left out of pocket????) AND some form of punishment - community service, a fine, etc etc.

What COS seems to be implying is that if she pays back the money she stole ( to ONE of the three victims) then it's all square? I don't think so. She has committed a pre-meditated crime and deserves the humiliation placed upon her.

Actions and consequences for crying out. Don't you get this? People seems to have broken the link between actions and consequences...

Look. Bottom line. She is now (in)famous for being a thief. The proof is incontravertible and she has ruined her reputation by her own actions.

Her friends WILL hear about this and they WILL question her. Good.

Actions and consequences.

wwp8 01 December 2007 04:13 PM

regardless of if all this is it right or wrong!

most important is have Chris got his money back?.. and what about the other 2 victims

oh lets just say cos her name is going round in a lot of forums, lets all call it quits?

gary1208 01 December 2007 04:24 PM

If I don't get my refund I might tap up Tom Cruise for the money, seeing as he's a Scientologist like her ladyship

hrness 01 December 2007 04:25 PM
