Super cool car!

Mick

377bhp... 177mph... 60 in 4.8

The figures are etched on my brain (easy to recall ;)).

Back in the day, they were mental numbers (for a, ahem, 'repmobile saloon' ;)).

There was an immaculate example often parked up in Braintree town centre, when I used to take the post to the PO, after work. Stunning.

OP, what's the real-world, on-road driving experience like? Is it really tail-happy when the boost kicks in, for example?

I think you'll find the top speed was 176 mph ;).
Attained at the Nardo track in Italy. Vauxhall never claimed a top speed for it. It was said the Lotus Carlton was over geared in fifth never mind sixth. Sixth geared at a lofty 44 mph/1000rpm!

Triumph Spitfire!
I had you down as a young whippersnapper for some reason. :D
You're obviously of a better vintage.
