THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION

amazing to think that all of the people he so say insured and nobody didn't seem to bother that they had no documents which I find amazing as if they didn't arrive within a few days of you paying then after not being able to contact him surely alarm bells would start to ring....

was he selling his so say insurance so cheap to make people buy it then ??

this day and age there are scams popping up all of the time and people still get stung...

he will get away with it as these characters normally do because they are pros and will have no worry of who he has ripped off

I hope anyone on here gets sorted insurance wise but I don't think the points or fines will get dropped but who knows ..

What a nob! I got documents and like the other guy said, I was even dubious at the start but did loads of checks including checking the MID constantly. I also got that tradex letter yesterday but I'm even thinking that's fake too and I'm not sending them anything. I've got quite a bit of useful info to provide to the police

Paula Williams 05 January 2014 08:49 PM

we had documents emailed to us in half an hour, then used them to tax the vehicle , just didnt check them properly as it does have john cope written all over it.
have police statements here awaiting collection.
we paid deposit by credit card so should be able to get the money back, but have now had to cancel card before he was due to take another payment tomorrow and possibly maxed out my card.

we were also told by police station to go here http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/ and report it online

Ellzbmx 09 January 2014 12:07 AM

Me and a few of my friends also fell for this scam

Have reported to action fraud and currently trying to recover money back from the credit card company I also got a letter from tradex the other day

I am having problems trying to join the Facebook group.

Hmm strange

turbotittybumbum 10 January 2014 04:38 AM

I knew it! I said that from the start which is why I didnt respond, its that ****er trying to get all his dodge paperwork back

Marietto 10 January 2014 12:14 PM

All

The letter from Tradex is 100% legitimate. I have spoken to them today and they have categorically confirmed that they did send out the letter. They are going to send me an email confirming this so I can post it here.

It is not the scammer trying to get your info. He already has that!!!

Thanks

Marietto 16 January 2014 04:16 PM

Here you go people - here is an email direct from Tradex confirming the letter they sent out is genuine:

Well I've not heard anything else at all. I found the police terrible and was always chasing them up and in the end I got fed up, so I don't think I'm being kept in the loop now

Marietto 23 February 2015 09:30 PM

Yes it's true - he was arrested just before Xmas and is in custody. His plea is being entered on 9th March - if he pleads not guilty as mentioned above it will go to trial.

To be honest I was one of the lucky ones that got my money back as I paid on a credit card and the CC company was able to get a chargeback sorted before it was too late. So I never pursued it any further as they had enough people & evidence already to prosecute. I am still in touch with some of the others who were defrauded though but obviously they can't say too much until after the court case.

Marietto 25 April 2015 11:13 PM

He's up for sentencing soon

Good, hopefully it'll a few years jaitime

Although I have to say, I think Tradex should be also held accountable and fined accordingly: Its clear they didn't have a proper system in place to prevent this fraud.
