This ****e all the way to Xmas

Should we slit our wrists, save time

SJ_Skyline 26 October 2013 10:09 PM

Not seen a single episode so far, no plans on doing so. Opium for the masses. :)

LSherratt 27 October 2013 09:03 AM

To be honest I haven't watched the last 2 weeks because all of the contestants suck. There has been so many series of these talent show type programs that there is no more talent actually left in the UK for these types of show to actually be half decent anymore. I can't see any of the people on this years xfactor becoming successful at all.

If you look, most of them are all young, 16 years old. This is because that's the minimum age requirement and each year the only new 'talent' comes from the people that were too young to apply before. I bet you that all the 15 year olds will be giving it a shot on next years xfactor.

I think now that the only true talent are those that make their way to the top without the publicity of shows like this.

Turbohot 27 October 2013 02:07 PM

I haven't had the inclination to watch it every week, as it is looking quite substandard tbh. Not because of kids' age in there, but no one there has a voice to stir my soul. I like the one with the glasses and flowers in her hair, but she's monotonous, hence not sure if I can hear her again and again. I also like the kid who doesn't wash his hair, but it could be his cute dimples that I'm impressed by.

Basically, it's not so good for me this year that I'd stop my studies in my office and run back home to tune the telly for it. Even my cats aren't so interested this year in it.

Gary Barlow, his new song sung on the show tonight total rip off of Mumford and Sons. He was lecturing Nicolas McDonald last night on being original. Pot kettle black

RA Dunk 17 November 2013 08:46 PM

You lot should all be shot for watching this dross.

LSherratt 17 November 2013 09:41 PM

Barlow was good and I thought his backing instruments were great. But yes, defiantly a hint of Mumford and Sons in there. Also, Miley Cyrus? Amazing performance ;) Last week Radio1 had her on a show and I actually found her quite interesting to listen to, surprisingly.

Turbohot 17 November 2013 10:22 PM

I watched it tonight. Miley's vocals are good in that song, no doubt. Her set was very bad, and she had some clothes on for a change. GB was good, but agreed that he's a copy cat. Glad that Luke kid is still in. He'll get booted out over the next 2 weekends, I know.

Brun 17 November 2013 10:45 PM

I must have been listening to something else - I thought Miley Cyrus sounded terrible!

f1_fan 17 November 2013 10:55 PM

Saw the end of this tonight, the lad with the mad hair singing the U2 track was pretty good I thought!

Turbohot 17 November 2013 10:56 PM

IMO Miley is good with her voice pitch variation control, and she sang in tune. I don't think she mimed either. Not a fan of her screeching voice as such. It sounds like my office building's metal gate runners/rollers when they are dry and rusty, and require WD40 or alike for smoother run.

Yeah, he's a talented child.

Brun 18 November 2013 05:03 AM

But like most of them, he's just another good singer - nothing to separate him or indeed most of them!

He's a bit different, like. I don't mean his hair, clothing style and dimples, but his singing style and voice. Then again, he's not that great like a male version of Adele or something.

I think Sam bailey will win it. British public likes humble ones with fairy tale ending, but the problem is that humble ones need to be outstanding like Leona Lewis. Matt Cardle and Joe types fail in the cocky market of music, whereas Olly Murs butt jiggling types make number one on pop chart.

I don't understand how Little Mix are carrying on TBH. They are neither cocky nor show off belters like Rhihanna and Beyoncé. Just as well they are a group, as they would have no leg to stand on as solo singers. Two of them still look like 12 apart from the Carol Vordaman's lovechild one, and the fair headed one (Perry or something she's called) who's Zain Malik's girlfriend.

Brun 18 November 2013 05:49 PM

Little mix is not my kind of music by any stretch but as a group they really do have chemistry and are very well rehearsed - if they get given some catchy tracks to sing then I'm sure they'll do a good job with them.

.....and thank god they seem to have got rid of the stylist who was dressing them like extras from Sesame Street :D

That's it! They sing catchy tunes, and that's why they are doing well. And yes, they do seem to gel well.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!

It was amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaazing:luvlove:

RobsyUK 18 November 2013 07:48 PM

LSherratt 18 November 2013 08:41 PM

Cry me a river you miserable moaners ;) If you don't like it, don't watch and discuss it ;) :lol1:

Dr Hu 19 November 2013 01:48 PM

If Sam Bailey doesn't win it it would be an utter travesty - as she is a mile above everyone else in singing terms & power.... there is just no comparison..... she is at Adele/Shirley Bassey level - the others are not.... end of.

plus - Tamara (Tamera whatever) OMFG she is so full on jailbait - cannot *believe* she is 16 WTF!!:eek::D

LSherratt 19 November 2013 06:05 PM

She's 17 now I think, so makes it a little better? :lol1:

Who ever that bird, Sam, is she needs to shift some serious amounts of music before she can even sniff Adele or Shirley Bassey's farts!

Not a die-hard fan of Bubbly, but I thought he was good tonight.

I'm glad Luke is through, although RC are way better then 1-D and JLS types lamenters. I wish Nicholas were gone. He made a right mess of 'Halo' last night. Anyway, distinct Luke won't win it. It will be Sam Bailey, even when we have had plenty of belters like her already.

Think I saw her on the end of the show last night doing Candle in the Wind? If that's her she is pretty damn good not like the usual wannabes these shows turn out. She'd be better suited to West End musicals or the likes though... I mean that in a good way!

Is that wretched Mariah Carey tribute act Leona Lewis still making music or has she faded to deserved obscurity now?

Well, I'd rather listen to something different than same belting every day, Chris. Sam B. And Nicholas are smooth, straight forward singers. We have had plenty of them off and on XFactor. I like the rawness of Luke's voice. Not just that, the kid can sing high and low with great showmanship. Original performer with ample busking experience.

Yeah, yeah. She was on tonight with a Christmas song, which was pretty forgettable, but IMO she's a good belter. That's what I mean. We have already got belters. What we need is something different and something original, which is the raw talent like Luke- a kind of his own.

Sorry Swati, I have no idea who he is. To be honest I don't object to these programmes, but they really aren't about finidng artists for the long term... it's just light entertainment for a few weeks.

That said I saw Niki Evans on stage in Blood Brothers a couple of years ago and she was superb, I didn't realise until after the show she came via X Factor!

It's the lad with big hair you talked about in your post 40, Chris.

I agree with your views on the programme.

Ah OK, I know the lad you mean now. Yes he was pretty good although I have only seen him do that one track.
