The doc should give you some sort of documentation on the program. IF you want to try and just installing the driver then go for 'Setup'.

Set up is a BIN file and says, windows cannot open file, gives me option of either use web service to find correct program or
Select a program from a list of installed program's.

jpor 17 January 2013 02:21 PM

I have just double left clicked on the 'Install' program and it has come up with a box saying 'Install' on that software.

jpor 17 January 2013 02:23 PM

Okay if that doesnt work then navigate to the 'install' folder.
There are 2 setup files listed. The one you have found is a non runnable program. The second one is the runable one ;)

Nope all I have when I open install folder is doc file, tutorial file and only 1 set up file which is a BIN file and won't open for some reason, maybe I don't have the software to open it:wonder:
When I go click the internet for options to open file it gives me
StuffIt expander
Alcohol 52% free edition
Alcohol 120%
Free file viewer

Well blagged now :brickwall

bustaMOVEs 17 January 2013 02:43 PM

Ah ha, don't think it extracted properly so tried again and now have more options in folder so let's start again lol

bustaMOVEs 17 January 2013 02:45 PM

I've right clicked on the disc picture install and clicked run as administrator lol

Now it's asking me to uninstall the old version before install

bustaMOVEs 17 January 2013 02:47 PM

Could I possibly phone you to carry on, would be much easier lol
Pm me it?

Right just searching in add/remove program's to remove old version before install and see if that works.

Just worried all my password in fingerprint will be removed, but suppose I can go to restore in case of problems with the new driver or if it dosent work.

jpor 17 January 2013 04:27 PM

Sorry had to go out :)

Yes, you will need to remove the old version first if it needs to. The Software will do the same thing as the add/remove option you are doing :)

Once removed the new version will be installed. And yes it may remove the passwords but in some cases it may keep them.

Just to add the restore points are your get of jail, so yes if this doesnt work and you are in a bind then restore back ;)

Once intsalled I guess you follow the instructions on how to use the software. Nothing more to that.

Good Luck. ;)

Cool. Just make sure you make further restore points as you go a long ;) that way you can methodically go back to certain stages when testing this out :)

bustaMOVEs 17 January 2013 06:05 PM

Well after all that, the fingerprint feature does NOT work on ie8 or Mozilla Firefox :(
It still works on ie7 though, wonder,,,,,,
Do I just restore it now as I can't be arsed now, plus the fingerprint is a feature I've got used to and is a good feature.

You might as well leave it. Does mean that the Finger print software is working correctly. Maybe worth googling IE8 and fingerprint techn ology perhaps?

Corky needs a good feed. :thumb:

Should change to Win 7, it's far better than Vista.

Finially just put it all back to before, phew, just put all passwords in etc, so back to normal. Tbh only use it for Internet banking as it remembers my details and just need to type code from key ring.

Question on this windows 7, do I need to buy the edition and then you need to put in a key to activate? Or can it be downloaded?

iPads are so much easier lol

jpor 17 January 2013 07:51 PM

To be fair its probably worth looking at the specifications of the Machine you have now. If you only have 1GB RAM as an example Windows 7 works better with 2GB RAM etc.. best sticking with the IPAD.

There are different editions of Windows 7. So it may just be confusing. As the saying goes: "If it ain't broke..."

bustaMOVEs 17 January 2013 08:06 PM

Common it's not that old lol
Intel duo core processor t5800
2.0ghz
3gb ddr2
250gb hdd

Probably just replace laptop when needed as I usually replace every 5 years and it's about that now.
