I'd have one - in fact we nearly did, but:
List price is just a starting point - looking at nearly 40k for decent spec Boot is tiny - absolutely hopeless for now 3 dogs and horse kit Towing capacity is bizarrely less than the Freelander You can get a Discovery for pretty much the same money if you spec one carefully, and I've never been one for style over substance. So, the Shogun has been perfect over the years and with Disco reliability still a fecking issue (my mates brand new one has been back for warranty items including a stranding him in he middle of no where break down) I'll probably go for another Shogun - LWB this time, or Like Mattee a Defender - with a lift kit. If the Evoque had a bigger boot, I'd probably have one right now. Yes, in white, but with a matt wrap. I will always have something 4WD from now on! |
my view,
I like the top 1 fully tricked up Big wheels Black etc, but your as you say at 45k, and i think it looks good for a women not a man. For that cash id be looking at an X3 335D |
this is the one in my local dealer stealer http://www.hrowen.co.uk/upload/image..._YA12KFO_8.jpg a snip at £55k what a dash yurchhghh
|

I would rather eat my own sick and spunk 45k on a Defender.
That's not a car, that's a fugging handbag. Any male of the species who likes this car needs to check themselves that a) they still have their bollocks and b) isn't a cuckold or a batty. |
I don't get it at that price.
I'd love a Disco but I'm sure it would end in tears at our local dealer........@ £165/hour. Struggling to replace our Tribeca at the moment. X5s are silly money with decent spec and low miles. Rather fancy a 5GT but that would leave us without an AWD car. Maybe some winter tyres for the second car would do the trick. |
That looks like a Khan job :freak3:

Very capable in the slippery stuff, can be specced up to be really comfy (our similar California has almost all the toys) and very capable in slippery stuff. You wouldn't green lane one but with diff lock and a decent AWD system, they work a treat in most conditions. I guess they might be a bit too hard for the poor school run mums to reverse though?! As for Kahn, the biggest joke of a modding firm I have ever seen. Famed for ruining decent motors with low rent (their alloys always fall to bits) tat then charging massive bucks for it. |

I reckon a proper posh person would go for a Defender or proper Rangie. The Evoque is for social climbers only :lol1:

The Evoque is a nice size (previous car for the missus was also a mini), comfortable and a 2.2l diesel engine - it was an easy choice. The missus is against VW and Im against BMW (no sane reason, just the way it is). However, now the issue is that I am looking at a full track car and may need to move up to a decent tow vehicle. |
Surely an Evoque tows okay?
I'm not anti then, just aware of the image they project. They drive a lot better than the wallowy Freelander on the road which is where most will stay. |
I'm amazed how many I see on my 13 mile trip to work, seem v popular and really not that exclusive any more and lol they do look small and dinky though when I behind one in my shogun !

My wife prefers a Defender. She's not keen on the Evoque; in fact I'd say I'm much keener on them! But she grew up with "proper" Land Rovers.

When looking for a new car for the good lady she was quite interested in one of these, she liked the size of the 5 door and appearance, so we took a trip down to local dealer to check them out. Have to say I thought they were very nice inside and very comfy to drive, was impressed - not overally keen on the outside apearance, but given that it was to be her daily it wasn't for me to decide.
At the time however we were expecting our little girl so had the whole will the push chair fit? etc etc going through our heads. Ultimately we found there just wasn't enough room in the boot or on the rear bench for when I have my other two children. The list price and costs of extras also put us off a great deal. In the end we decided to go for a volvo XC60 and I love the thing - really good spec (pan roof, rear camera, DAB radio etc etc) and it cost less and it's not as popular, although beginning to see more and more where I live - but that just says to me it's a good car.. :) |
We've just started on a mates black 3 door.
Colour-coding all the lower plastics. Should look very good when we're done. Very nice to drive and quality inside. Ok it isn't as large as the Sport or Vogue, but just as well built for a fraction of the cost. |

Will do.
It was quite an expensive Pure, but he wanted the looks of the Dynamic...OK it isn't getting the bumpers, but then it isn't going to cost the same either! :) |
Look forward to it...

She had nothing to do with the design of the Evoque, she merely worked with LR on a limited edition.
But in good old Scoobynet fashion, don't let the truth get in the way of your poorly informed opinions! Wow, a limited edition by Victoria Beckham, what street cred, sounds like you've gone and bought one on the strength of her car design kudos. |

So she worked with LR on a special edition, thanks for clearing that up, obviously nothing to do with design then.

Looks like you could lift the bonnet up and stick a ham and cheese sandwich under there for a few minutes and end up with a toastie. Not a great looking RR.

Just finished it today. Difficult to see in the pictures, but i actually prefer it to the Dynamic. Back end looks fussier to the front though.
