So happy with my new purchase. Absolute bargain, £4995, with under 50k on the clock, full Mazda history, just had a service and MOT with 12 months Mazda warranty, and on a 55-reg, which means £270 rod tax. It also has a Parrot MK9200 fitted, so Bluetooth, with iPod/USB/jack plug/SD card inputs, all coupled up to the Bose stereo. The car is grey, rather than the more popular/common silver.

The drive is a nod towards the Impreza, but not as raw. It's a quick car, but the torque means you don't need to thrash it. The interior quality is near German, with a raft of air bags, leather everything and Bose stereo.

Having owned Subarus for ten years of my life during my mid-twenties to my mid-thirties, this is the perfect car for me as I'm due to turn 40 next year!

how do you think it would handle on a track?

i had an rx8 and loved the handling, drive etc.. but couldnt justify the running costs for the lack of performance so sold it which i now regret.
looking at getting a scoob again but always fancied a 6 mps and want to doo a few track days and nurburgring trips. just not sure is the 6 would be too cumbersome

Good buy that man!!!

Now get a re-map and enjoy it even more :) The standard map just looses uumph over 5K rpm, a remap makes it feel so much more lively.

It would be fine on track, but probably a little sedate. I guess lowering it with firmer suspension would help, but I'm toying with the idea of a cheap MX-5 for track days.

Hypertech currently being looked at (close to buying) to up the performance! ;)

Nice car buddy. I do like em, more of a sleeper ;). My mates got the Sport on a 02 reg, had it since new and not had one fault with it. Now that's gotta say something about Mazda's build quality. Enjoy it mate! Keep us up to date on how you find it etc.

How's the car mate, still loving it?

Andy Tang 11 December 2012 11:43 PM

Love it! Wish I bought one sooner.

It's even better since I stuck the winter tyres on it last weekend!

Razorwrx1 12 December 2012 01:14 AM

Glad it's all going well mate. How's it on fuel and insurance?

Andy Tang 16 December 2012 10:14 PM

The insurance is around £300 for an "elderly" gent about to turn 40!

I was getting around 22mpg on a 12 mile trip to work, which is mainly b-roads, stop-start and a bit of minor a-roads. Had a run out today and I'm closer to 25mpg. I could get more, but where would the fun be! ;)

All sounds good mate, glad your liking it! Gives me thought for the future.... Mmmmm
