I got the spats on my WRX saloon. There black and so are the side skirts and I would like to get them colour coded in 406 silver

Thanks bud, the wheels haven't seen the road yet but somehow they're now dirty already!!!! :lol1:

Looks nice mate. Only thing ad do is have the wheels painted the same white as the car. But that's just my painters eye

In the flesh I quite like the colour difference in the whites, if they changed colour they'd go black, I doubt I'd pay for another white shade of paint :D

Maybe I will then, they just look so nice black I was having different thoughts :D Not 100% sure on the drop, being 2nd hand springs, could be anywhere between 30-40mm, it's hard to tell :thumb:

Although yours is the better shade of white :thumb:

Silver Scooby Sport 29 January 2013 06:11 PM

Looking good there Cliff it's starting to come together now :)

Before you paint the front bumper are you going to remove the two washer jets there?

v5 man 29 January 2013 07:36 PM

It depends on how much extra it costs Si. I don't mind them myself and if it's going to cost another £50 (I have no idea how much) to fill the holes then I'll just leave them with the washers in :)

g7prs 29 January 2013 09:13 PM

Taking shape nicely Cliff.

DYL 4N 29 January 2013 10:01 PM

Thank you. Slowly getting there, it's nice to have a project car with no real completion timescales :thumb:

Now I also have to decide if I use the version 3/4 grill, or the version 5/6?!!!! :D
(both seen above) and whether to keep the splitter and splash guards black or spray white?!!!

beef-on-the-bone 09 March 2013 11:42 PM

imo

go with the v5/6 grille, if you keep the splash guards, then they should be white. But if you want a splash of black then maybe black mudflaps??

more of the lip needs to be white i think, maybe leave a small bit along the bottom black??

riiidaa 09 March 2013 11:49 PM

White bits rather than black please!

Looking good

gpssti4 10 March 2013 07:38 AM

All white for me and the v5/6 grille as it looks more balanced with the front bumper.

v5 man 10 March 2013 11:43 AM

I must admit, the black splitter and splash guards look is very different, one reason I was toying with keeping them, but this morning I've woken up feeling they need to go white.
The worst that can happen is I spray them white, regret it, the have to spray them black, not really a huge deal.
The only issue is..... my splash guards are rubber. Can these be sprayed or is there plastic versions out there?

As for the grill, I guess the V5/6 grill looks better suited to the bumper, I was thinking the V3/4 looked a lot more aggressive?

Silver Scooby Sport 10 March 2013 12:19 PM

Get them wrapped white Cliff and run with them and in time you will know which way to go ;)

Yes the rubber can be painted, there is an additive that the sprayer will include in the mix which will make the paint flexible and allow it to bond on the rubber spats.

Imprezel 10 March 2013 12:27 PM

look great

Imprezel 10 March 2013 12:28 PM

but pls paint the mudguards white

Good info Si, thanks for that. I have a new laptop and no Photoshop, which has always been my best friend, but it should be installed within a couple of weeks, so I'll paint the car on there first :thumb:

I almost certainly will now. The car looks almost finished in the photos but in truth it needs lots of paint and many more days/weeks.
These are the stages where I can fit parts, stand back and have a look :D

The 22b vents, main bonnet scoop, front bumper, fog covers, splash guards, splitter and side skirts, all need paint, so far from the finished article :thumb:

RA Dunk 10 March 2013 11:16 PM

Looks good, where did you get the 22B Bonnet vents from?

They're HT Autos 22b vents, one of the 1st mods I did on the car and still one of my favourite too :thumb:

RA Dunk 11 March 2013 09:10 AM
