Jimmy the nitpicking on here is nothing like it is on Pistonheads. Over there you have a generation of middle management mummy boys, etc. This place can be fine just tell those messing you about to 'f' and that'll be it.

mate if you quit now the twats will feel they have won a wouldnt give these keyboard gangsters a second thought who gives a fliyin fcuk as to what anyone else thinks anyway long as ur happy

Kwik 07 January 2012 06:43 AM

Its an internet forum, people will have different opinions to you, thats life.
I think it was Satre who said "Hell is other people".....
I'd imagine you have been targetted because you are likely to rise to it. Iirc you've had a hard time recently and maybe this site is substituting something else.
Your car should be about a driving experience not a community you may/may not fit into. You seem to have made a good friend in the hamster, so good things have come from this site for you.
Oh and I'm pissed off you have swapped your Type-R, i was waiting for you to waiver on buying it, I'm watching just a shell ATM thats £1500.

Take a breather, i did, and remember its the internet, its not real.

thunder8 07 January 2012 07:01 AM

i may of read your posts and i may have answered some of them,

but i never said anything bad about you,and this is for all scooby net members,

on a good note i do like your car !!!!

don,t sell it for the sake of it ,there are moderators on here and try to find a way of reporting them ..

I've got to say, I do agree with Jimmy on this subject. I used to own BMW's and belonged to 2 forums. Not once, did I come accross people getting nasty in a thread. It was amazing how nice everyone was to eachother. There just seemed to be this un-official gentlemens agreement, to respect eachother, regardless of the content of their posts. Obviously, any foul or offensive posts were dealt with by the moderators.

In this forum, there are some real nasty people in the midst and their actual real life characters are definately portrayed through their posts.

RobsyUK 07 January 2012 08:24 AM

Report the abusive pm's to the admin. Abusive emails to the police.

Then jump on an adult site and bash away ;) Then come back feeling refreshed and enjoy the goodies of scoobynet.

I know I say some stupid things (not to anyone but my opinions) that people WILL be offended by and have had read words aimed at me - abuse I guess but todays news is tomorrows trash.

Best thing to always do is be truthful, helpful and honest. If I don't know something I will say I THINK it's this and hope for a correction if required.

If someone calls me XYZ for being wrong I don't go crazy and keyboard worrior them I just take it on the chin and do a sarcy Sorry with a few of these :hjtwofing:hjtwofing and that's it! I don't continue it on for ever!

People do hold on to an issue way too much and those people need to get a life. It's a website where NOTHING is real. For all we know we are just one computer talking to another with a few nerds sitting in a dark room looking at a screen typing a few words while browsing porn.

Anyone ever noticed how these adult sites always know that there are some real fit your area? :thumb:

tubbytommy 07 January 2012 08:28 AM

nooooooooooo jimmy just when we became friends :cry:

oh well good luck and you may have set the record for the number of imprezas owned in 2 months lol.

look forward to chatting on mlr as i had an evo in my past.

L&G.scooby 07 January 2012 08:48 AM

If that's how you feel then so be it mate. I was looking forward to your Typr r trip you were going to take. Don't rise to it and stick it out. There are more good than bad on here. But whatever way you go, good luck and safe driving to you :D

Guest 07 January 2012 09:17 AM

What about me? Am I alright? :)

And what evo will you be getting?

SkydiveMacca 07 January 2012 09:23 AM

Wait, you already swapped the Type R for a bug?!?!

Rob Day 07 January 2012 09:34 AM

In all seriousness forums can get out of hand, its easy to bleeting on a keyboard and cause harm in some form, usually emotional, however at the end of the day all forums have keyboard warriors so dont rise to it. I have bit a few times, but now try to take the passive approach, if someone wants to be off I try and resolve it on the forum openly, or pm them regarding the issues, and in once case rang the nutter up!

Either way there is no need to get your knickers in a twist and spit the dummy out, I certainly wouldnt be detracted from Subaru just because of comments on here.

Jura - Has Splitpin now left the forum :( ? I liked the guy, he said it how it was, but was very knowledgable so you could see his points of view clearly.

Rob

f1_fan 07 January 2012 09:37 AM

Jimmy, just ignore them or give as good as you get and don't take the place too seriously. Easily done I know, but at the end of the day most people on here are alright and then there are one or two who try and spoil things. Why leave because of a small minority? Rise above them and enjoy the rest of it :thumb:

Rob Day 07 January 2012 09:38 AM

ps - Im confused the ebay link:

Morning guys.
I really do enjoy having the crack on here, once or twice it has gone to far and I don't like the thought that I have upset anyone. We all p1ssed our pants at that horid red car,yes it was bad lol,I felt bad by having it !! As I say alot have been great,I have met a good handful of people and all 100%.Yes it is funny, and I scramble for my lappy in the mornings to what has been posted to some of my bizzare postings,I love my cars.Anyone who has been on FB will see how many I have had in the last 6 months,Tommy hit the nail on the head about the 3 type of people who have Scooby's,I fall into all three in a way,but in another don't fall in to any.Since I have been on here I have had a wrx uk,a snow plough,a wrx wagon,a wrx jdm,a type r and a wrx ppp uk,plus a few other cars dropped in for fun, thats in 2 months,I must be mad !! LoL
Unfortunatly I can't at his present moment afford a brand new car worth 40k,50k or whatever,so for the time being I have to play around with cheapier ones, yes your right Tommy I have gone back to an Evo,and I know there is alot of arguements between the two drivers (why,Evo's are faster and better lol) .. No doubt in a few weeks I will change my mind.I have an Evo 6 that the guy is selling me brought round to me at 10am as I have my daughter with me this weekend,I know sweet FA about old cars,or new ones so I hope its a good un !

I`m never a fan of these "goodbye" threads, always interprete (sp) them as will people ask me stay etc.

At the end of the day, it depends why you join forums, to make real friends or to learn knowledge/share knowledge

I am not a member of this forum or any other forum for friends, merely to learn/share and gain info on faults/mods etc.(and participate in some banter LOL)

I havent read on any of your threads any real abuse

If some of my comments were read this way, apologises, but reading text can be interpreted many ways, as alot of people get fired for LOL

I do get the slight feeling you may have underlying issues (strong wording i guess) but to own/swap so many cars in such a short time without doing it for a living is somewhat strange, but each to their own

enjoy your pastures new

Scoobynet HAS changed a LOT in the last year to eighteen months.

before that, there were loads of knowledgeable people on.

Now there are still a few, one or two who post occasionally, and the majority are now folk who know little or nothing about the cars, but are VERY free with advice.

REALLY knowledgeable posters like Splitpin, who Jura mentioned earlier have left after being abused by these new know-it-all types.

It's really up to jimmy: stay or go.

If he doesn't feel comfortable, he'll go.

nizmo80 07 January 2012 12:07 PM

see you there buddy:lol1::lol1::D:thumb:

I reckon he'll stay personally, he secretly likes the attention, negative or otherwise! (Stay Jimmy, I like to see a new Impreza every month!)

As you say though, a lot of the guys who were very knowledgeable when I first found this place have gone. There are a few left, but they are being forced out with the arrival of d1cks and scammers, numbers rising daily.

Add the often personal arguments about mobile communications, joining sides when discussing mappers, destructionthe once unshakeable bond of the gentlemans agreement, and all the other little annoying habits picked up by the membership on here lately have made this site less of a desirable place to frequent.

Must be a yellow Impreza thing. ;) (I may regret saying that LOL )

Can't be blonde, as I'm a blonde....:Suspiciou:

As I said in another thread; take the rough with the smooth.

Locking horns with anyone and everyone who happens to not like you or has a ill-informed/skewed opinion will never amount to anything, except more of the same times ten!

DCI Gene Hunt 07 January 2012 01:08 PM

^^^ Couldn't agree more, likewise treating SNet like twitter and posting every bowel movement you have can also have a detrimental effect, it's called "doing a Snazy"....

But if you're going to leave, then leave.... don't post a page of tosh about how hard done by you've been..... just close the page and move on ;)
