With a bit of luck the local Greggs will run out of pasties and I might be able to shed a few pounds.

Fuel up - I'm walking to work
Food up - I'm eating less

Frankly the western world imploding is doing my health the world of good :D

I don't think that the increase in food prices has reached such a stage with respect to what people in general can afford to buy.

People managed perfectly well in times of real austerity in this country without jumping up and down and causing havoc. We know the reasons for the price rises and rioting won't do any good as far as they are concerned.

Les, that is spot on, half the country could do with losing a few pounds anyway, perhaps if we made things go further and were not so wasteful and greedy it may not be such an issue, its like people moaning about fuel that drive absolutely everywhere in a big off roader. Ok some that are on very low incomes will be really feeling it but I dotn think it is at the point that anybody is going to starve.

Anyway, riots dont help, ever from what I can see, stuff gets broken, burnt or stolen and people get hurt, how does that ever help in times of austerity ? all the money spent to put things right has to come from somewhere, but ont he up side some of the rioters get new tellies, funny how fighting for a cause can turn into choosing a new tv. I think a lot of rioters are opportunistic and looking for something to do, some are genuinely aggreived and some are just insidious and organised trouble causers who want to cause anarchy for the ske of it and I expect feel a bit guilty and embarassed when they eventually grow out of it.

I saw this coming a while ago. I've been cramming my garage full of Tesco stripy baked bean cans and shotgun cartridges. So many in fact that I now have to park the Porsche on the drive instead of in the garage. It's a PITA as the X5 gets in the way now. I'm thinking of filling the hot tub with soup whilst it's still affordable and making the au-pair eat the leftovers from our plates rather than letting her choose her own food from the fridge.

When wil they wake up and realise this country is heading back into recession courtesy of their over cutting and the rising fuel prices. The VAT alone on petrol is giving them an extra 7p a lite over 6 months ago so they have soeme room for manouvre.

But hasn't there been rumbles about Labour local authorities implementing savage cuts and blaming the Tories, so that they can win a few seats at the next council elections?

Not that Lying Labour would stoop to such measures, of course........:)
