Yes it is fiddly, you just need a lot of patience and a second pair of hands. I found it easier to do in two halves, just make sure you do a good job of the join and you won't notice. You can always rip it off if it doesn't look any good.

Since that picture I've given mine a good curbing, and it's held up very well.
