Rant over!

Doing chav things to a car automatically turns it into a chav mobile, usually like it's owner.

Also it's another thread where someone has asked for advise, but has been ridiculed.
someones car maybe a sh*t heap to you,but to them it's their pride and joy.
My classic wagon is almost ready for the scrap yard, but i still love it,and while it still runs and puts a smile on my face,i dont care what anyone else thinks.

i agree mate, so many people on this forum are too quick to take the p*ss and not actually help out the OP question instead it goes of at a tangent and makes them feel like crap, people use this forum for advice, not to be made to feel ****e, if its not your thing, dont bloody comment, unless in some cases its concern regarding engine, legality or and constructive criticism. hence why i use another site more regularly now sorry but its true

Maybe because ive been around subaru's longer than you have and seen tasteful and tasteless and can tell the difference between the 2 :p
Yes, its chavvy, the only place you can use them is Maccy D's car park, which is also frequented by brain dead morons with no respect for a marque of car with the exception that its "fast" and has a "massive" exhuast on there cos it sounds good

Sorry, some of us have taste, some of us dont, and as the legallity of said crappy piece of equipment has been pointed out (along with the fact that the engine will self implode if the OP doesnt get it mapped soonest), there is nothing else constructive to say.

Tony:)

Awesome thread :thumb: This has really got me thinking that I might do this mod to my new Bug STi. Does anyone know where I can also get some revolving number plates, machine guns that pop out my lights and an ejector seat

Now they would be a good mod :)

As Tony has said - only 1 cat (sports cat at that) on the PPP and if that is removed the car isnt long on the road anyway unless he has it mapped for it.

Its a case of you like it or you don't. There is no way i could be classed as a chav. I am 37 with 2 kids lol. I have had my scoob 6 years and it puts a smile on my face every time i drive it. If that in your mind makes me a chav then boo yacasha IIIII.

Being 37 with 2 kids is not mutually exclusive with being a chav - there are many, many chavs with a wife, sprogs & Impreza.

wimpy 18 November 2010 12:39 PM

Indeed and I ain't one of them lol Only time i goto a tesco carpark is for the shopping trip and scoob does not make that trip lol. Oh and not a neon in sight.

no_more_oil 18 November 2010 01:14 PM

I think a few people are forgetting that to many many people ANY Impreza is classed as a chav chariot. you may not like it but your exquisite piece of engineering with £30K in the engine and rolling chassis alone... is to some just a chav mobile.

I run an newage STi fully forged blah blah blah - everything done right. its had about £20K extra put in to it none of it obviously visible on the outside. BUT even in standard exterior trim I'm under no illusion as to what it looks like to some. No stickers, no neon (wtf), set up for the track but it is what it is. Don't worry about what it looks like... to 'some' Porsche/BMW/Ferrari drivers we all look like dicks. I don't care what they think... I love mine and when I beat new GT3s on track I go to sleep smiling and dreaming of my car not theirs. I also dream about people who own £80k motors crying! ;) :thumb:

Guy wants a flamer kit? Good luck to him, its his car and his money. At the end of the day his 'image' doesn't affect mine or yours.

Like some others I prefer constructive advice though... So on that note my advice is flamers aren't really very impressive, so get a str8 through 3", save up for a simtec and map a moderate anti-lag or a little rich maybe. I think you'll find the effect will be MUCH MORE to your liking mate. :)

Good luck.

wimpy 18 November 2010 01:29 PM

I don't agree on that point, It affects just about every Impreza as we all get tarred with the same 'chav' brush.

So in your own words define CHAV......?

It seems to me that this word is used to freely. It would be good to hear what people think defines a chav???

wimpy 18 November 2010 02:10 PM

How to spot a chav car

You may be wondering how to spot a chav car. ****ing imbecile, it's not hard. Anyhow, just in case you are; here are ten ways to spot a chav and his chav-mobile.

1 - The chav will most probably be wearing burbarry and cheap gold from Argos. Remember, they have no taste and it gives them away.

2 - The chav will stare at you, because he thinks he's hard. He's not. He's a ****. Be sure to tell him so. "Oi, chav... yer a ****!" should do the trick.

3 - His car will be ****. This one's a giveaway sign. He'll drive a small, cheap car because that's all his benefit, or fudge packing job will allow him to buy. He will think he's driving a Subaru Impreza, he's not. Tell him so.

4 - His car will have lights on it that flash in sequence. It's a special code that means 'I am a ****, with a **** car. Laugh at me and tell me so".

5 - He'll be a ****.

6 - When he sits in his car, he will barely be able to see over the steering wheel. This is because he is a ****, and is under the impression that by lowering his seat he somehow looks 'cool'. He doesn't... don't forget to tell him so.

7 - His car will sound like your dad's hedge trimmer. This is because he's fitted a Halfords exhaust on a car with a tiny engine. He thinks it makes his car sound powerful. It doesn't. You know what to do.

8 - The chav moves in herds for protection. You will find them in McDonalds car parks, and other areas where they can gather to congratulate each other on their impressive beasts. This is a good opportunity to strike, scattering them as they flee in terror.

9 - Don't forget, the chav is a ****.

10 - Finally, and most importantly, the chav drives a very slow car, but is under the mis-guided impression that it's fast. Race him, he will most likely kill himself as the weight of his fibreglass add-ons cause his car to topple on bends. Remember, the more chavs you kill, the more bouqets of flowers are left on roadsides.

This made me smile.

RA Dunk 18 November 2010 02:13 PM

Someone with seriously bad taste who does tasteless modifications to his car. Even Millionaires or well off people can be totally tastless and still be classed as chavs TBH.

sticks and stones its your car do what you want to it, its a croud pleaser to most i havent had one person say that they dont like mine and thats from all ages and genders... one thing i dont really get it why ppl are sayin dont spend £30 on a flamer kit spend hundreds on gettin anti lag even after the guys stated what he wants is flames but cant afford anti lag etc... how ever the bit i dont get is this, the guy wants flames yet u say no donmt its chavy unless you spend hundreds of punds on ecus re mapping and anti lag to get the same thing FLAMES ARE FLAMES, theres no such things as a chavy flame and a cool flame, end of day from the experience from mine they make me smile and 80-90% of ppl have thought its awsome etc and no they are not young girls at mac d car park etc, it doesnt in any way affect a persons image, every car is different and the car goes with the owners image, his car wouldnt cause your image as a scooby owner to get worse by any means, or you sayin every scooby should be how you want it for your image? thats just daft and not forgettin a lot of ppl like the flamage and would bump the "image of a scooby owner" up.

end of day guy wants it so lets help him not go callin names, i thought that this forum has got a lot of friendly and helpful ppl etc :D

wimpy 18 November 2010 02:19 PM

Thats what i mean by being used to freely.

CHAV is a derogatory term used to describe certain young people in the United Kingdom. "chav" is often used to describe aggressive teenagers, of white working class background, who repeatedly engage in anti-social behaviour such as street drinking, drug abuse and rowdiness, or other forms of juvenile delinquency.

Wikipedia make for some good reading lol

Totaly agree with you. I am sure over 50% of the people that attend tunnel runs do so to make as much noise and as many flames as they can. Around 200 cars can attend these events and are they chavs? no they are cars and owners doing what they enjoy. I have had my flamer on mibe for 5 years now and will keep it on there for as long as I own the car. When i had mine fitted there was a 10 day waiting list for these to be done in time for a tunnel run not to me that speaks for its self. To the OP go for it mate £30 off ebay for millions of smiles makes it worth while. I say lets see all your flamer pics :thumb::hjtwofing

Damn straight!!

Like a few people have already said, Imprezas have a bad rep anyway. when ever i tell people i have one the first thing they call me is a chavvy *******.

so what, i dont think any car that comes out of the factory with gold wheels takes itself too seriously anyway.
