Well, as it was back in the olden days, when BBC2 had just started, my dad reckoned it was a much better picture on there after that! :lol1:

What ! I only remember channels 4 and 5 starting!

Les,was someone holding the ladder? That must have been a good 30ft drop?!

That was my mistake, it was an old wooden ladder on wet tarmac! Not as high as that thank goodness, but high enough to smash my wrist and my hip! I learned the lesson the hard way!

had several nasty injuries over the years, sliced the end of my finger cleaning a manual bacon slicer in a butchers, fell through a plate glass front door and sliced my little finger, arm and face, broken both wrists 7 times each through several different accidents on motorbikes, mountain bikes, skateboards etc etc, you get used to it after a while, being accident prone i mean, hospital used to know me by name when attending a+e

* NB. I was about 3 years old, it was a toy police car i dropped from the kitchen worksurface and forgot I was on a stool, reached to pick it up, and I supose I did -with my face:lol1:

When I was young (5 or 6) my father brought back a TV magnet (worked at a TV repair place) and I was fascinated with the fact that you could make hat pins stand up.

I picked the magnet up one time, forgetting there were 1/2 a dozen pins still on it. I looked down at my hand and was amazed to see these 6 pins sticking out the back of my hand.

I thought this was kind of important and wandered through to find Mum who utterly, utterly freaked. Up until this point I wasn't really upset or in pain, but seeing my Mum having the screaming ab dabs set me off and I started crying as well.

She couldn't get purchase on the pin heads in my palm so had to turn my hand over and push it down to get the pins out.

None of my mates believed me about that - even though I had matching marks on both sides of my hand...
