Just checked to see if my old Pug is still on the road. Looks like it is going by the DVLA.

H219 SWU. Sold it to a gent on here back in 2001.

My single biggest motoring regret was to sell my '89 Graphite 1.9 GTi. I bought the car as completely clean and standard for £2500 in July 98, by the end of the year it had been up to Morecombe to have a stay over at LADs workshop where it had the complete refresh package.

That consisted of new springs/struts, torsion bar adjust, poly bushed, new grooved and vented discs c/w fast road pads, complete strip down and rebuild of engine with head work and a fast road cam, and also a group N exhaut and air filter, oh and a fast road clutch kit too.

That little lot cost £2500 and gave me essentially a new car with more power, as it was up to 160bhp. Fun Fun Fun Fun Fun.

Ended up wanting more though and px'd it in for £2500 in the September to get my first Pulsar GTiR. I dont regret getting the Nissan, but I do regret selling the Pug.

I might be selling my Passat TDi soon though, and I do keep thinking about doing all this again.

I sold the car on in 2004 I believe. I've got a mint low mileage 1.9 Miami 205 GTi now as a Show car. :)

Yeah the guy who bought it wanted to turn it into a Rally car. I paid £800 for the car and sold it for something like £740 on Ebay to him. A week later he was back wanting to buy a pair of front seats I'd picked up but never fitted.

Good engine in H219SWU, went like a rocket, bags of torque for an 8v.
