BiL bought a new 5GT Turbo in 1990...christ that could shift, loads faster than both the XR2 and XR 4X4.

really like the look of the one i posted the link too but top top money but has all the work done on it and my favourite colour too, caspien blue think its called, total minter, would be a weekend toy though, couldnt use it everyday, would stick it in my parents garage and bring it out on nice days, think they will go up in value to.

Slightly off topic, but i left work today and was following a T plate Mk1 fiesta down the road

Looked in fantastic condition to be honest, really surprised to see it.

My mate is currently building a "small project" R5 turbo, he bought a battered old 5 GTT, a mint 30k mile 5 Campus, and a Volvo 340 for its engine (dont ask)

His small project apparently now stands him at 8k, and its still not running

I thought the D plate rusty fords were because they started using a cheaper recycled steel to save money ?

no the steel they used like british leyland had been sitting on the docks rusting away before they used it

Am I missing something here, or is this a bit of minter at a seriously good price?

I had a Rosso Red 1985 'C' reg as my first car back in 1997! Absolutely loved it! It had a Piper Cam, 4 branch manifold, Ashley exhaust, twin 40 DCNF carbs, polybushed with Spax suspension. Think it had RST front brakes as well! I'd love another. The 2.0 zetec engines from the mondy fit straight in with a few little ods. Put some twin 40's on it and it'll fly. The noise of the carns on full chat was amazing, used to split flames out the exhaust!

Heh a few years ago these were well cheap. Seem to have rocketed up. The XFlow Mk1 is the real deal I guess. the CVH was more of a dressed up Fiesta but we did have one of the first. White one on a B plate (B462 WAT I think) bought it second hand from a Ford dealer.

Just shows the interest there is in cars like this because people wanted one when they were younger and can now afford one. Its the reason Ford should have called the ST and XR. tHey'd have sold double.

5t.
