Your wrong about Shevchenko. He always tried, his problem was that Mourinho really never wanted him at the club and he knew it,the league was to fast for his game and when he finally started to look like the player we knew at AC Milan he got injured, his wife hated England and he never cleared off back to the sunshine after Chelsea,he went back home.
I don't think even she would say he had a successful spell at Chelsea. He had been typically banging in 30 goals per season in his original spell for Milan. I think Abramovich could have expected a similar return against our defences over here. |

 3 years, has he given up the booze as part of the deal ?, can't see him lasting that long. |
Tough ( for us ) away at Birmingham tomorrow. I'll be happy if we scrape a goalless draw.

Thought we played some good stuff tonight. Still a very long way to go for Roy and this team, but a good performance.

Joe Cole played well, finally found his playing level ;) not many scarf wavers in, doesn't the social pay for Europa League games? :)
|
Maybe Joe has found a club he likes being at and fans who appreciate his talent?
Not many scarves at the Bridge are there? I suppose with all that plastic being waved there's no point. |

I'm in Frankfurt at the moment. Can anyone tell me how many we trounced Northampton by this evening? :wonder:
:freak3: :D |
No. No i don't think anyone can tell you that :D
|
Cobblers!....
...(sorry). With Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Spurs already out and the other big guns fielding their ballboys their could be an unlikely pairing in the League Cup final. My bet's on Newcastle to lose in the final, but to whom? :wonder: |
The holders :thumb:

After 96 years of overcoming various illnesses my Grandfather finally passed away last night.
He was a lovely guy who lost a lot of friends and family during WW2. As a child he had rickets and later on in life he overcame various cancers. His wife died in the late 70's but he still carried on everyday with the same, doing the same thing, day in, day out. When it was his time to go he wasn’t scared; with his 5 children and 11 grandchildren at his side he was brave and didn’t show any fear whatsoever. He was joking and laughing, but slowly his illness started to take him. In his last minutes he started to mention the friends he had lost and how his wife went too early ;he even mentioned his friend who had died when he was shot down over Germany, but then suddenly he took a deep breath and, looking out of the hospice window, he said "Still, it could be worse. I could support Liverpool...." :) |
He must have been one of the few people left who remembered them winning the league. There must be but a handful of survivors now. :( :thumb:

lol :D

Disgraceful cheating from Liverpool yesterday. Is this what a once mighty club has come to? very sad :(

Torres knew what he was doing and was just trying it on, why would he look twice at the ref? It should have been brought back by the ref, but he had gone off not looking at the free kick being taken. This is where he needed help from the assistant, who totally bottled it IMO. Gerrard should have walked too, the ref clearly saw it yet decided it was only a yellow card:freak3: If he was giving a foul for jumping into the player then that is never a yellow, if he saw the elbow to the face then how did he come to the conclusion it only merrits a yellow? At the end of the day if this was at the Stadium of Light Gerrard would have walked and their first goal wouldn't have stood. Big clubs get these decisions at home, hell United have had plenty as have other clubs. We need stronger refs but with the amount of pressure they get if they give a wrong call it's sort of understandable why they bottle it sometimes. The elbow was clear cut IMO though. Aaron:thumb: |
Roy has been preparing for the January transfer window:D

Danny Welbeck
Has been charged with violent conduct by the FA. They have reviewed the video evidence of the incident with Gerrard and charged him with "high / dangerous use of the face". |
Do you think he targeted Wellbeck because of who his parent club is ?
Yes I am saying Gerrard is that petty.... |
