Just imagine what another 5 years of this imbecile will do!

Dave

You have just proved, quite unintentionally on your part, why we SHOULD have 5 more years of Brown!!!!

Why?

Well, Blair was better than Thatcher on the economy - you have said that - and who was in charge of that economy??

BROWN!!!!

Of course, Brown was PM when there was a GLOBAL downturn the likes the world has never seen before ..... I'm shocked it's only a -5% fall in all honesty - another vote of confidence in Brown's amazing ability to handle the economy.

Most of the UK knows that it would be a massive risk to put a couple of dumb-ass rich boys in charge .... when we have statesmen like Brown and Darling willing to give it 5 more years on our behalf!

Bram 01 March 2010 01:56 PM

I am fortunate like the Welsh I have third party to vote for so I will vote nationlist. Tories have no mandate to govern for Scotland and it will be between the SNP and Labour in Scotland with the Liberals restricted to sheep farmers and intelectual types in St Andrews.

Often confused me why Sheep farmers and Intelectuals vote the same. But I have concluded one thing I think makes them kindred spirits. One makes a business from tending mutton no one eats and needs EEC money to stay afloat. The other spend their time on courses that never count for nout in the real world but need grants/Govt to support them in their addiction in ology.

Liberal party for under achievers, spongers, folks that do not want to work hard, but criticise everyone else and make everyone politically correct. Beats me why they can muster enough members to donate monies to run the party or is the Oxfam Shop vote underestimated.

do people seriously contend it will any better under the Tories (for the majority)

regarding fuel tax -- a subject that always hits a nerve here

it was the Tories who introduced the Fuel Price escalator back in 1993

"Fuel tax in the UK is constantly changing and has risen steadily over the last 15 years. Between 1993 and 1999 there was a rapid increase with duties on fuel increasing by 3% above inflation. This was due to a major change in petrol taxation in 1993 when the Conservatives introduced the Fuel Price 'escalator'. This was a way of the government making money and also to help protect the environment by discouraging people from using their cars."

It may well not be your mantra but someone has to lead the country and therefore you should vote the best from a bad bunch to try to avoid getting the worst.

I agree with Trout on his point about Hague. He may not have a face that fits and be ginger (what hair he has left) but he is by far and away the best Tory in terms of personality and how he puts himself across in interviews and speeches. He also appears to be a far bit more intelligent than all the others. Cameron is utterly useless in comparison and really don't understand why they got rid of Hague.

Bring back the rule of Maggie and right the country again :D

Yeo, you are correct, however it was NL that continued to use the FTE so hardly another result on thier part was it.

I do not trust NL
I do not se much in the way of real policies from Camoron
I prety much dismiss the others as no chance except Lib Dims unless there is a hung parliment.

Choice is between Tories and Brown i would rather have the Tories, why, because with the likes of Haig (who i have met several times through work and found be be likeable, honest and seems trustworthy) i trust them just a little more to do the right thing. If the Tories stood up and said they would hold a referendum on the EU then i would be behind them completley.

As it is there is not much between them (Tories and NL) as far as i can see, i despise Brown and his cabinate of scumbags, not one of them i would vote for or p!ss on if on fire, in fact most likely be me pouring the petrol and flicking the zippo in the first place.

Careful, this post could be seen as incitement - to do something rather naughty to the cabinet:lol1:

BTW I think the scumbags bit is a bit strong, I agree about wanting a change a gov. and I sadly agree it will make very little difference.

OK, how about; self serving, self promoting, selfish, "do as i say and not as i do" gravy train riding NL politicians instead?;)

Martin, have you got any lighter fuel, my zippo is a little dry;)

I cannot understand why people choose not to vote, however they dress it up. It just means you can't be arsed.

If people are completely disillusioned about the choice on offer then spoil your vote, it would speak volumes if the number of spoilt votes outnumbered counted votes.

Not sure of exact stats but less than half the electorate turned up last election, it would be nice if 90% turned up but only 40% voted

Not turning up shows complete lack of respect for those that ensured your right to vote. Unjustifiable if you believe in democracy.

Quasi Modo 01 March 2010 04:12 PM

I couldn't stand the idea of some jumped up smug little turd saying he/she was so glad to see that my vote showed my total confidence in their abilities to lead the country in the future.:nono: Voting just for the sake of voting is not what the vote was fought for.
I don't care whether they are New Labour or Conservative, neither are fit for office. Don't get me started on the Lib Dems btw, we'll be here all night.:D

Is the Monster Raving Loony Party still available?

Reminds me of Blackadder the 3rd, Standing at the back dressed stupidly looking stupid party, what kind of anus would even think about it? well they've got my vote.

Hardly,

Thatchers first two years she was down -3.5% and three years -2.2% just because she took over at the start of a recession.

Dave - perhaps you could enlighten me as to which 'Tory plan' Labour followed when they got into office.

Why do you feel the need to rewrite history??

You know as well as I do the last Tory government had a catastophic economic record - hardly a great plan then!

Diesel 01 March 2010 04:41 PM

I've never voted Tory in my life, but now could be the time in order to stop these fidiots getting another 5 years of destruction in. At least Osbourne, Haig (sic) and Cameron have a thinner veneer of BS, evasion and spin than the current muppets.

As someone mentioned, Hague has grown up a lot and seems far more trustworthy than the curent shysters (had a pint with him years ago - nice charming chap, was a bit surprised truth be told). Far better option!

Its not what the general election betting predicts, the tories are still clear favourites to win the election, its just about how many seats they get as to whether they get into power.

I'm not re-writing history. The last Tory governments spending plans were so *catastrophic* that New Labour pledged to stick to them! See ... BBC NEWS | Special Reports | 629 | 629 | Blair's Cabinet of '97 - where are they now? ...

"... He initially gained a reputation for fiscal prudence, sticking to Conservative spending plans for the first two years in government in the teeth of left wing opposition ..."

If you can't remember that as being one of the central planks of their manifesto, one of the *bribes* to get middle England to vote for them, then you must be younger than I thought. Your username isn't your DOB is it .... ? :Suspiciou
