It really is slipper city lads - oh and those mugs who knock their beans in doing 60 hour weeks while only getting paid for 40 of those hours are actually paying my wages. Almost as well off as the teachers!!!!

That, above, all used to be fine as the balance between challenge, pay, hours, security and perks seemed to make sense... NO ONE (except top 3% in my industry even GETS a pension! Its life.

Now the guy that has NO COMPETITION but a licence to print money gets £227k pa - and that's just his starters. I'd buy some paper, press print and then book a lorry for half that (plus 40 days off pa, Jag and a 75% final salary pension).;)

THe only job of the public sector is to enable the private sector to function for every 4 people working there is one public sector worker to hold our hand. When you figure in that 1 in 4 people in the UK is actually in education that seems alot of people doing nothing the working population has to pay for.
Interestingly enough Scotland and the north have significantly higher percentages of public sector workers than the south.

It is frankly a miracle that our taxes are so low given the number of people in education, working or contracting for the public sector and those that don't work or live in council housing. It would take a genuis to balance that budget.............. no wait we have not baanced the budget we are just borrowing more cash to dig a bigger and bigger hole.

Remember that Public Servants pay taxes too - effectively paying their own wages to some degree, when they spend they pay taxes, when they save they pay taxes, when they move house they pay taxes ....... just like the rest of us in the private sector.

Don't tell them, but they are effectively working for nothing! Shhhhhhhh! :D

Those figures only tell a half truth. If public sector funding is analysed on a pure economic basis then the balance is somewhat different. Public sector workers in England, particularly London earn a disproportionate level of income.

Most of the highest paid public sector jobs are in London, most of the MoD high paid jobs are in London, civil servants within the M25 get travel and location allowances.

These factors hide the huge hidden public sector funding of the North-South divide.

Can you actually bring yourself to do a job which is of use to the administration and the country on top of all that?
