I am now wondering if the egg white did anything and maybe it was just the Autoglym Polish i used that solved the issue. But either way johngoulding made me remember i had Autoglym products by mentioning Autoglym! Ha. So regardless of whether the egg white worked or not, he mentioned Autoglym! Lol

I should have checked the result after rubbing the egg white in to see if it helped, i didn't look though and just took the Autoglym polish straight to it. I'll go get the Tcut and ruin my paintwork again lol.

as for the egg white , supposedlely it softens the dried in t-cut and makes it plyable to rubbing out again ?

Wish it got rid of touch up paint that was the wrong colour! Lol

Just remember to seal and wax after polishing!

What do you mean by seal and why do you have to wax it after?

Just that if you are polishing you are removing any crap from the surface along with any protection such as wax etc, you then need to re-protect it from the elements or degredation of the paint will occur more rapidly.

You can seal with specific products before waxing, or there are many combined products out there, but in at least apply a layer of wax to the paint, and try to keep this up!

I take quite an interest in the condition of my paint and so like to keep on top of it, this is obvioulsy down to personal preference and what you want from your car, some see paintwork as something to keep the rain off the metal when driving, others like to use it as a representation of the car and the care you take over it... each to their own :)

The egg and t-cut thing has been around for years and i have used it myself.
After reading this you would have a field day on some of the mix's i have used over the years more on classic bike paint work but they work this is just one Brake fluid/autosol/vinegar mix till a nice paste then off you go bung on some cheap polish shines like new and it still shining 10 years after i did it

There lot's of old wives tales out there not saying there is not but some do work and you do not always need expensive polish's thou saying that the most expensive polish when i started out was triplewax :lol1::lol1::lol1::lol1:

he could have just done the logical thing and applied more tcut or autoglym to soften it and rub it off.

I have had egg three times on my own cars and all three times it has wrecked the paint and needed resprayed and that was with me washing it off directly after contact.

dont know why i bothered saying anything, clearly good car care is wasted on some members and some are still stuck with their snake oil products and hand me down recipes for cleaning paintwork etc.:cuckoo:

i think ill go out to my garage and make up some of my own polish made from the cats old turds fished from the litter box with some petrol and a drop of thinners thrown in, should be awesome.:Whatever_

If you have had to have a respray after an egg has been in contact then washed straight off get another painter have had my car egged in the past been on there all night with no problems


I have always had my cars in good condition having no garage.They have to be kepted good and my last winning concours more then once and being used for film work,waxed with Lidl's carnauba wax@£1.79 a tube and by the way this is as good if not better then the meguiars wax my wife got me,just because it costs a fortune does not mean it's great.So good car care is not wasted on me and i will stick with my Snake oil and hand me down recipes as they have served me well for the last 20 plus years plus i have more money in my pocket for other things

Cheers for the tip on this one will have to give it a try but i would of thought the grit stuck in the poo would scratch the paint :Whatever_

No fancy polish's No machines tool's used on these just lot's of elbow grease which is also free.
