Xbox all the way. Great for online gaming. I don't own a PS3 but I have friends that have one. Yes, it is a nice all round machine, but the Xbox 360 seems to pack a bigger punch. As said, Forza 3 is miles better than Gran Turismo, Cod Mw2 is about the same.

The Wii is utter crap and I really don't see what all the hype is all about. We have one, more for the mrs and 'gatherings'. I would never play on it out of choice. The Xbox also upscales dvds very nicely.

Scratch that, none of them, get rid of them all, seriously I am starting to hate them as my kids argue and jostle to get on it all the time, we stop them so they do somethign else and they bitch and moan and I have come so close to launching the f*cking things down the garden its untrue and to cap it all there is always one of them ensconced in front of it when I want a go and if I do I get asked every three minutes when I will be done.

I have an xbox and a Wii.

The xbox is for "proper" games. Good gfx, all the major games. Good internet features, sky etc.

Wii for a laugh on a Saturday night with a few beers.

What about reliability? Have the X box ring of death thingy been fixed?

I believe all consoles that were built and sold within the last 18 months are running a different chipset/core. It was a cooling problem that has now been fixed.

This is probably the RROD "KOD" but mine has never even so much as made a grumble - and it must be coming up for 4 or 5 years old.

I have had mine for 18 months now. Plus, Microsoft covers you for 3 year now anyway.
The guy in game tried to sell me a 3 year warrenty, should have seen his face when I mentioned the above! :D Knob jockey!

Had mine for years, with no trouble.

** Touches wood **

However I only play on it for a few hours at a time.

I would go with PS3.

I like both my PS3 and 360 but the PS3 is so much quieter and slicker to use IMO, not to mention the excellent built in Wi-Fi and PS3 media server. :)

I've been playing Forza3 on 360 this week and for some reason my machine now sounds like a UFO taking off, the spinning drive is stupidly loud - it's so loud I have to have the volume up high which then wakes up the Mrs.

If you are really into online gaming then maybe go Xbox, but otherwise PS3 is much better for me.
