I'll have to dig my x-ray's out from when I snapped my leg, still got the titanium rod and screws and a little bit of gristle stuck to the rod :thumb:

I was okay until you mentioned the gristle. :lol1:

I have witnessed as an AR on a local level a tackle that has ended a player's career, I hope never to see one ever again.

No, they're not nice, but shouldn't be ignored, they are the dark side of our beautiful game and IMHO, players who cause injury in such a manner and in a deliberate way should not be allowed to play again.

For referees etc to look at then fine but i just don't get why anyone else would want to look? I know it goes on in every sport, i've seen a fair few injuries myself having played sport all my life. Still makes me cringe seeing one though:( The first one i can recall was David Busst, until then I never realised the dangers of the game but it changed my thinking forever.

Anyone deliberatley injuring someone else should be banned for life, that we most certainly agree on:thumb:

I looked at Alan Smiths as I never saw that, getting married at the time, anyone notice Gary Nev picking his grips out of his arse cheeks when chatting to Fergie !!

The reason why others would want to look, morbid curiosity? That I cannot answer. I don't particularly like looking at them for sure and it's even worse as you will know having played sport yourself to see them in person, I am not a queasy person, but to see a person lying prone and in that much pain is un-nerving. I will look at those videos differently as I am looking at how the tackle occurred as opposed to the end result. FIFA do a lot of training videos that involve those type of tackles but with less injury resulting (more luck than anything else in some cases). Our focus is to stamp out these unacceptable incidents.

Busst's injury was also the first one I was aware of too back in the day.
However, it foxes me as to why teams would continue supporting and paying for players who did such things, but then you think, wouldn't you rather (depsite all the contraversy caused) have them on your team and risking injury to other team's players than your own?
The FA/FIFA/UEFA, whoever should be taking these players out of the circuit and permanently.
