Oh please............this has got to be a premature April Fool!

So her local council will pay for it - was this a council who also invested in Iceland? Would love my money to go towards this..........;)

..............though it could be used to warn kids that this is what happens to you if you don't do well at school!!:thumb:

As for Jordan being banned from the funeral, I thought it was open to the whole country?

Wake me up when the circus leaves town:sleep:

On a separate note, What exactly did Jade say about the Indian girl to cause such a racist storm (sorry I don't follow BB or so called celebrities) She must have said some really derogatory stuff and called her some really vile names? I've honestly never heard what unbelievable things she said, can someone enlighten me, or are they too dodgy to post here? :wonder:

I think this is quite an appropriate model for the new statue

In spite of the fact that I applauded her fortitude for facing up to her impending death without complaint, and her maximum efforts on behalf or her two boys, I really think that putting up a statue would be over the top to say the least.

Still dont think it is clever to mock her appearance though. Shows a lack of ability of self expression as well as that of common decency.

Enough is enough.

Firstly and most importantly the money would be better spent on the community, perhaps invested in cancer screening.

Next the numbnuts on the council who suggest this waste of tax payers money should be removed from office for not be fit to make basic decisions with tax payer money.

That out of the way.
Jade - RIP
However, she was famous for being thick and loud-mouthed - a Gobsh*te
She traded off of her image as a gobsh*te and made money as such - OK if people want to pay to see or hear about her, says lots about some of the people of this country.

She was diagnosed with cancer, she decided to raise awareness of this terrible disease, especially in young women and to make some money to keep her kids.
Not a problem with that.

She has done some good and is gone now so let the memory of this individual go and move on.

I cannot believe some of the paper headlines i saw over the weekend - Essex Princess.

She was no princess to me or anybody else i know, she traded off of her Gobsh*te image and if anything was a terrible role model for youngsters seeing a thicko, talentless loudmouth do so well.

She certainly does not have any of the attributes i would associate with a princess.

I don't agree with a statue. Personally I am celebrating her life with this...

It's already been tattooed into your consciousness so why not on your skin as well?

Les,
I have the utmost respect for you, and you also know I have had people very, very close to me battling this illness, but at the end of the day she was a foul mouthed, nasty, very unattractive piece of work.
There are far more worthy people who have fought this vile illness with more dignity and grace than she did. I am not going to list them, but I see no statues to them.
I would find it highly offensive for her to be given this status above far more worthy individuals.
Sorry if that seems harsh, but that is the way it is. She was no Saint and never will be.

I found the pics funny and I feel no shame in admitting to it. :)

I take that back in Jade's case, as the pidgeons would fly upside down because there would be nout worth sh1tting on :D

Lee, I too have had people close to me battle this illness, I too have had my own scare, but I don't think it's right to base how someone deals with it and how they behave, on their looks or media personality.

No she wasn't a saint, nor was she,imo a great role model, but she was a person who went through a terrible ordeal, much like many other people, and I firmly believe some people have related to her (not all because they liked her), but because she seemed like a fairly average person. Yeah, some other people have done more with their lives, some have been 'better' people, but it doesn't make her plight any less than another better person. At the end of the day she may have been thick, she may have said some stuff she regretted, or not, but she was only human. People say **** on here all the time that makes me wonder, but it doesn't mean I'd happily crack jokes if they were seriously ill, or died.

If we all want to get mad about all the fuss, and perhaps lack of for other people going through this, get mad at the state of the media, and their love of all this celebrity bs, get mad at the people out there who buy into it.

Btw, I don't agree with a statue, if people want to do anything, then put that same money to charity, or campaigns. She has made money for her family, raised awareness, now lets do something to help others out there.

Lee247 01 April 2009 12:18 AM

No comment, hun. We shall agree to differ :)

Nat 01 April 2009 07:39 AM

It's funny how peoples views change isn't it?

Once they have the balls to say what they really thought all along and not just agree with the Snet flock like usual.

My views have never changed on that woman. Disliked her from the start and couldn't care less even now. I think there are far more worthy people in this world who do a lot more for their community and those around them than her.

As far as I am concerned the faster this kind of 'milked' publicity gets off the news and media, the better.

Thanks Lee, I agree largely with your description of her when she was on the Reality scene. I think she was at a disadvantage because of her lack of education etc. and a lot of that came out in her behaviour then. Yes she insulted Shilpa Shetti but that may even have been accidental and she went out of her way to sort all that out anyway. They became good friends at least.

I think nevertheless that she was a decent person at heart. This showed in her attempts to ensure the best possible upbringing for her two boys who have all that cash in a trust fund to ensure their education and start in life. She also never whinged to us all about her terminal disease and the pain she was experiencing. I think that is a plus which can be set against the earlier impressions she gave.

As you know, I have had my own battle against cancer and like anyone in that position, it is a life sentence and one is never completely out of the woods. I do at least have first hand knowledge of what it is like. I also saw a close friend die of it last June and he was in a bad way right through. Jade deserves a bit of understanding from that point of view as well.

Of course a statue would be quite ridiculous and I hope that idea comes to nothing.

When it comes to the piss taking with the pictures, I think it is a poor show since she not only does not deserve it but cannot defend herself of course. I think it is unfair and nothing to write home about!

Like you and Lisa, we must agree to differ and there should be nothing more to it than that. If we all agreed all the time life would be pretty boring anyway :)

Les
