put it this way your seats werent in a bad state as the ones you fitted so i would be unhappy as well.

salsa-king 15 January 2009 07:15 PM

it's easy to look back and say... but you should have noticed them when you 1st got old of them, them to me look like burns yo notice.. especialy inbetween the legs area :(

can you ebay them and start again.

if they were mine I'd be pig sick too, I don't smoke, don't have any smokers in my car and don't expect to have fag burns in my seats.

my last scoob had a hole in the drivers seat, but its wasn't a burn and never got any worse.

i feel gutted for you :(

WRX_SWRT 15 January 2009 07:16 PM

def rockky burns funny my 555 sti seats had the same not from me might i add grieg

hoskib 15 January 2009 07:20 PM

lol, spot the stoners on the thread!:D

over reacting, nah not really. the fact it sounds you got an agressive reply makes me think the guy thought he'd got away with it. but as already said, it's a bit of a schoolboy error on your part.

shame as the rest of the seat looks in great cond. for the age. hopefully it's something you'll get used to seeing (personally it'd drive me nuts, but i'm a nerd;)) if not i'm sure ebay will come to the rescue in time:)

scoobymyster 15 January 2009 08:38 PM

Yip they are fag burns I'd say, no doubt

Jamo 15 January 2009 08:44 PM

pikeywrx 15 January 2009 09:24 PM

thats definatly a burn off some sort off description. or he might be into sharp studded S&M jeans?

Its abit off a joke when you do a deal with people and they hide something i check notes and all sorts lol just a shame another "did a deal with a fellow member" thread has come up gutted for you fella go get your seats back!

jayb1970 15 January 2009 09:35 PM

Defo blim burns. Damn shame yet another SN deal has gone pear shaped:nono:

jaytc2003 15 January 2009 10:37 PM

defo burns :(
I would say you should have checked them when they arrived, but having recently done a deal with you on something I know you are honest so probably expect everyone else to be as honest as you, unfortunately thats not always the case

Jamo 15 January 2009 10:39 PM

thanks james :thumb:

Just like to say that this deal was done with me, I have agreed to pay for a buckle as it must of been damaged it transit. I am putting my name to this as I told the buyer there were NO HOLES and that is not hole. I also sent multiple images of both driver and passinger seat before traveling half way up the country. The seats then sat on the path for a good 30mins as I had nothing to hide as the photos had been sent. I also imformed the buyer that the area in which you sit were marked.

And as for the HOT ROCK comments I don't even smoke, let alone do drugs

And to say you never checked them, You checked that bolsters (sorry about the spelling) hadn't gone soft, your at fault for not checking you are happy with rest of the seat before letting me drive all the way back and then starting all this!.

I am waiting for you to get back to me with prices so I feel the poll is OTT.

Here is the pic I sent
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...%20car/416.jpg

The marks you point out can be seen....

Sorry to have a pop but I feel I have done nothing wrong, as I am offering to pay for the buckle that is now broken.

moff1888 16 January 2009 12:46 AM

IMO if the marks/holes whatever hadn't been pointed out earlier I wouldn't have thought there were any holes in it. They just look like blemishes on or due to the camera.

To state that there were 'no holes' whilst concealing the fact that the seats had burn damage of whatever type; was far from honest; wasnt it?

You know very well that you wouldnt have got the deal that you did if you had been honest and open: that makes you dishonest, no matter what you say.

ash002004 16 January 2009 01:19 AM

I can say I'm honestly shocked that my fellow honest, decent minded and friendly sn'etters on here know what "hot rock" burns are

haha, only joking, They are definitely so. Too small to be cigarette burns mate

abbott 16 January 2009 01:20 AM

Rubbish. The seats were spoilt and you didnt mention it. As everyone here with an Impreza will know, the velour material doesnt photograph well and those marks could be anything. You should have honestly described the damage rather than say 'no burn holes' when asked.

DJ_Jon 16 January 2009 07:10 AM

Definitely look like blim burns to me too. Shaggy should have checked them, but he took the seller's work for it, which is what I'd probably do too. The seller should offer some recompense for the undisclosed damage. [/can-of-worms]

bigarf 16 January 2009 07:26 AM

not wanting to sound like i am taking sides or anything, but if the seats had been delivered to my house by mail in this condition after he said there were no marks, then i would have been pissed off.but as the guy travelled down to you and handed you the goods then you had the opportunaty to check and say you didnt want them as they were marked.sold as seen imo.

GC8 16 January 2009 07:44 AM

James trusted him; because he had lied about their condition. Certainly a mistake, but it doesnt alter the fact that the vendor wasnt honest.

WaltonWRX 16 January 2009 09:18 AM

This is a burn HOLE is it not?
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...rette-burn.jpg

Buyer was told that area of the was marked

vindaloo 16 January 2009 02:26 PM

Considering how old the 555 seats must be I think I'd expect to see a few marks on them. All things considered they've stood the test of time well IMO. I'm almost surprised that there are not moth holes or scrag marks all over the cloth.

I don't think that the seller's tried to pull a fast one.

Considering ISTR that the Ebayer who sold Paul Palmer his seats photochopped a huge wear/tear on the bolster out of the piccie. Apologies if I've got this wrong.

I think you've got to chalk it up to experience. Sort out the seatbelt buckle and draw matters to a close in a business-like fashion.

J.

I think that you should wind your neck in. From those messages its evident that you lied about the marks in the pictures.

GC8 16 January 2009 02:40 PM

Those now deleted messages where you stated that the visible marks were from the rivets on your jeans.

after reading all of this hear is my idea on it .im new on hear but spent alot of time before on another forum when i was into front wheel drive cars .
first of all as the buyer u should have checked the seats u was paying good money for the seats im sure ,if as said they sat on ur drive way 30 mins there is no reason for u not to see the holes/marks do not trust anybody and double check every thing .
as the seller the way u worded ur reply was clever there are no holes it all depends what u call a hole , there was clearly sum markings on the base of the seat and i would call them holes or burns small ones yes but still there so really its a case again ov buyer beware .
i dont mean to upset any body buyer or seller just my ideas on it as i have seen this sort of thing happen time and time again on other forums

Jamo 16 January 2009 03:08 PM

just to clarify, he was at my house for less than 30 minutes and the seats were just taken out of mine then put into the boot of his focus, we then just sat the seats in my car, id of estimated they were on my drive (whilst i was removing the seats from my car) for about 10 minutes. but as stated I didnt really have chance to look at them as I was busy taking the seats out of mine to give to walton. and to futher clarify my point I have two witnesses to prove that. one of which is a police officer. :)
