Damn. :(
My car's off the road. My cunning plan to go late tonight is scuppered thanks to a seized rear brake caliper. Arse biscuits. Well that and the damn dealer sending the wrong caliper.... Grrrr..... Damn it. It means I have to go late tuesday which will only be worse or brave Sainsburys mid Tuesday afternoon. God help me. |

I feel sorry for anyoine just about to go and do their shop today, it'll be a nightmare with the shelves picked clean by panicers Just wondering in case I'm missing some new urban street talk jive :Suspiciou |
I'm panicking that after seeing DCI's booze list that I haven't got enough in, hence I'm off out for more tomorrow :D

Am off tomorrow for this laborious task. Wish me luck :(
|
Up at 4am, in supermarket by 4.30, out by 5. Fave butchers for meats on the way back, plus the one 'round the corner for the 'Award Winning' pork pies. Home by 5.30am and off back to bed for a couple of hours now :D Enjoy the queues, jams, hostility, empty shelves, frustration and irritation of shopping with the general populous, I'll be drunk :D
|
Popped back to Sainsbury's this morning to refund some Pistachio nuts. Had to park around the corner, the parking was all full. Panic inside apart from the refund nit and the basket tills.
|
We'd be having grilled spam sandwiches and cups of tea if I was in charge at Christmas.
Darn,I'm now salivating Wife hasn't gone too bonkers though with shopping |
I'm off to Sainsburys at 9pm tonight and then call in at Tescos on the way back for anything I may have missed...
This is all assuming the car is back. Otherwise I may be buggered. |

going to try tescos around 10/11 tonight will still be busy i bet.
|
I've just been to Sainsburys and it wasn't too bad, got parked up straight away, got myself settled in my own tranquil bubble of peace :D and wandered round filling my trolley. Went straight to an empty check out and had a nice young lady from the Sea Scouts pack my bags. Shopping came to less than expected and I used my Nectar card to get £30 off the total. All in all not a half bad experience :thumb:
|
I'm pissed off cos I want to get a bit of veg for my tea tonight and no doubt I'll be trampled by the hundreds of people who LEAVE IT TIL THE LAST GODDAMN MINUTE TO GET THEIR FOOD FOR CHRISTMAS!!!!
The shops are really only closed for 1 day, come on! :nono: |
[QUOTE=Kieran_Burns;8365677]you poor naive fool.....
;) |
we did the mamoth shop last thurs night. not a single queue going at 8pm. !!
I drove past morrisons at 7.45 am today- traffic chaos on the roads just trying to get in. good luck to them all !!!!!!!!! |
Go and do the shopping she said, it will be fine she said !
I went to the Handforth Dean Tesco's, bad mistake, I dont cope well with the public, but to my credit I didnt bite anyone.... packed to the rafters with those cretins that exist in their own little world, oblivious to anyone else, trolleys getting abandoned side on in the aisles, stood gabbing, those prepared to barge through when you are waiting for a rather ancient lady to a get a shuffle on. Blokes proudly pushing enough booze to kill themselves ten times over, honking great fatties providing a trolleyful of evidence as to why. Sainsbury's in Wilmslow by contrast, was like slipping into a warm bath, generally less Chavvy mutants than Tesco's, the ignorance in the car park has to be seen to be beleived, Range Rovers parked anywhere but a space, one parked in the access road on the single yellows causing a tailback on the main road as people try to get in but cant, the owner is a local mummy who has a disabled daughter, who, most of the time doesnt have to be in the car for the badge to come out.... |
my old dears went into M&S today ( I needed some chicken breasts for tea tonight and got them to go and get them for me:o I know, i know, what a horrible offspring blah blah:lol1: )
Apparently M&S shelves were stripped bare... and a woman in front of my mum in the queue was telling her that she had been in M&S yesterday and done 'some' of her christmas food shop... she had spent £500, was back today and then had to go on to waitrose!!! wtf are people buying? a golden goose or two????? |
