Chill you lot. Oh and 32" is fine - non pikey :lol1: :lol1: But only just... :luxhello:

Pikey was the larger than life woman in leggings who bought the same package as me, except she opted for the 40" screen - probably chosen by her hoody son:p

Suresh 17 November 2008 07:00 PM

I have a 4 year old 32" CRT. I'll be getting a HD tv and Bluray set up just in time for the 2010 world cup I reckon. Top quality stuff should be cheap as chips by then. :)

TV cabinet is only 100cm wide, so I reckon nothing bigger than a 42" will fit in it (thankfully). Cabinet is closed when tv is not on. Which is most of the time.

I am by no means a chav, pikey or any other form of theiving b******, but have a 32" LCD in my 5yard x 4yard sitting room. Why? Because I got a good deal on the T.V. when I bought it in the sale last christmas. I got the T.V. surround sound, dvd player and glass stand for under £700. Thats certainly not boasting how much money I have or how big a T.V. I can fit into my room. I take exceptional offence to comments like the above. I bought the bloody thing to enjoy watching films and sports more. Obviously if I was as rich as 'yow' and had a living room the same size as a tennis court i would have a private box at my football teams stadium, or my own directors chair on the set of the film I'm watching. But I'm not as rich as 'yow' so I'll continue to watch my 'oversized pikey chav T.V.' while you scrap the cow sh*t off your wellies from your beautiful trek into the great outdoors:D

Idiot.

fantastically put mr o_brian. Although i cannot come to terms with the fact that he calls big TV's 'chavy' when he is on a forum dedicated to cars that are quite often classed as 'chavy'.

I also have a big LCD TV which is probably bigger than i need. But why do i have it? The exact same reason i have my car..because i enjoy it.

Im assuming the same people who think "large TV's" are chavvy, would not DREAM of going to the cinema in fear of being classed as "uber chav !" :lol1:

There is a limit, when it becomes obsession about having a HUGE TV but I think for the average room, there is nothing wrong with a 40"+ if its used :)

I have a 21" crt that I bought in 1998 in the Family room.

I also have a 32" Sony LCD in the Drawing Room. (48' X 35') with full wireless surround sound and DVD recorder.

I take recordings of all the lovely birdsongs, sheep baa-ing, cows moo-ing and trees rustling in the wind when I go for my outdoor walks and play them back on my DVD recorder, just for those days when, for some reason, I can't do my 'outdoorsey' things.

Did I mention that I also have a Games Room with a great big eff-off 60" plasma on the wall at the opposite end to the pool table?

Not to mention the plasma IN the deep end of my swimming pool. Great pictures of tropical fish (from a DVD player of course) when I'm practising my Scuba diving at home, you know, when I haven't got time to get to Saint Tropez for a few days each month.

Pikeys - don't ya just love them?

tongue firmly in cheek, of course.

Dear god Michael, one would not consider such a thing. Imagine the rif raf at such establishments, I bet they even have cars on finance, pah. And those big screens are the appithany of chav.

One would rather chase sheep on ones surf board through a nice country field :D

Matteeboy 17 November 2008 09:41 PM

1) Sheep don't fit on a surfboard
2) You don't surf in a field
3) Yep - cinemas are a bit pikey too
4) Tee hee

zs_phil 17 November 2008 09:50 PM

yes but its better to have a tug watching certain dvd's on a 42" than a 21" tv :norty: :lol1:

you guys want to try living in Belfast. Just bught a 46" sony bravia from the mainland and got my aunt to post it over. All in cost me £780. To buy the same TV over here costs £1300 inc. £50 to get it delivered as I cant fit it in the Scoob!!!

I have 4 Sony bravia's and the smallest is 32" It does'nt make me a Pikey, Chav or a hood. I work DAM HARD, and love my comforts!!!!!!

Matteeboy, we all welcomed you back after your departure under a cloud, not so long ago

Since you have come back, all you have done is baiting and trolling. Please have some respect for peoples choices and stop ramming your so called perfect life down everyones throats.

Oh and I have a 42" TV, a Scooby, a rather large house out in the sticks, a mortgage, 2 kids, 2 cats, a dog and 2 horses, so I guess that makes me a Pikey too :thumb:

We do - and why? Because we rent :lol1: :lol1: Of course to many of you with massive mortgages, it's still daft to rent :lol1:
But there'll still be plenty on here with more money.

Pikey.

Well said, I dunno the guys problem, has he turned into a miserable alcoholic or something due to his mis-fortune last year?:wonder:

nearly as bad as DCI baiting the new Admin Team:lol1:

lozgti 18 November 2008 08:47 AM

When I said our 32" TV was mahoosive,32" isn't actually that big

It's the box that houses everything.Takes up half the lounge.

Plan is to have some fitted shelving and a nice slim plasma (at least 32"+)

Mind you,we only watch about an hour of TV a night

Couldn't be better actually but thanks for the therapy advice. Why not stick to your own problems eh? I've heard you have a few.

You lot are easier to wind up than an uptight Muslim. :lol1:

At least some "get" what I'm on about - the rest just withdraw into defensive aggro mode

The money stuff is just a laugh - and you all fall for it hook line and sinker every time. Like plump trouts going for a tasty fly...

Well I was going to go in store but then searched online and found it for £329.99 with a 3 year warranty so went for that. Not sure I need the surround sound, but would have been good to have anyway.

Figured I'm not going to get a 32" TV for much less.

John Lewis were doing it for £329 with 5 year warranty but alas out of stock.

after 20 years managing 10'000's of social rented/private sector rented properties- I can confirm amongst me and dozens of colleagues:

there is a direct correlation between poverty and having f**k all to the size of yr telly. The less you have and the crapper yr house/flat/cardboard box, the bigger your tv and the chavvy your life/wife/family is.

Sorry to stir it more- but it just is true !

It must be some sort of image thing, like dripping yrself with gold and ensurign you wear clothing with designer labels- to prove to everyone how wealthy you are.......... of course the reality is those with real money--- you would just never know it.

So question: how would places like Brighthouse at 29.9 % APR survive without the stupid then queuing for a big telly ?

Matteeboy 18 November 2008 10:23 AM

Austin - don't believe we have "met" but I already like you!
