Most office workers only do about 4 hours work a day ( there was a report a few years back where they had put a couple of hidden cameras in an office to find out how much was being done ) - after you take off tea breaks, gossiping, looking at heat magazine, ringing friends, wandering about aimlessly etc....so I dont see a smoker having the odd 10 minute break as a problem.

I did some work for the Civil Service when I was in Uni, and because of working on PC's all the time, we were told to take at least 10 minutes every hour away from the screen - they had no problem with you taking a quick fag break as long as you didnt take the pee and spend all your time out there, and as long as you got the work done.
