Many thanks for all those that have put their names forward & shown interest for a shooting event.

I would just like to say that over the last few months I have visited many different shooting locations & then followed up with a local pub & I'm sure the following will not only be a great introduction to shooting, but also a wonderful lunchtime fayre, all at a reasonable price.

Shooting:

This location has over 30 different styles of shooting, from easy incoming clays, some would say easy left to right clays & high clays. The grounds offer a whole host of new & fresh challenges, although for those that have never shot, you’ll be able to bring something down. For the more experienced of you, far corner on the fast midi & high tower is where you need to be.

The Fennes Shooting Ground
Braintree Shooting School
Fennes Estate Bocking
Braintree
Essex
CM7 5PL

Tel: 01376 343900

Times

9.00 -10.00 bacon butties, coffee & tea & meet your instructor for the morning

11.30-12.00 there maybe a break for a quick round of drinks (non alcoholic)

1.00 end of session

What you need:

* A good pair of sturdy walking shoes or boots, if raining spare clothes
* Waterproof jacket, or a thick coat to keep you warm

What is provided:

* Ear plugs
* Eye protection
* Gun & ammunition
* Instructor per 6 people
* Light refreshments

Booking for Saturdays are typically 4 weeks in advance & week day events are 2 weeks in advance; the minimum number of people is 6. Maximum number per day maybe limited to 24, though if we have more with a little planning, this can be ignored.

The Cost:

This part of the day will be £48 plus vat per person

The follow on pub would be:

The Dolphin Pub
Coggeshal Road
Stisted
Braintree
Essex
CM7 8EU

Tel: 01376 321143

This pub has a typical home cooked pub menu, old fashioned with roaring fire & cask ales. The food is simply great & very reasonably priced. Again dependant on numbers I will get menus nearer the time if you would like to pre order the food & take some of the cooking issues that a large group brings. Remember the food is home cooked, its not fast food.

Finally for those that want to bring their own guns to shoot with any items can be purchased in advance from the following gun shop. Mention my name (Knowlesy) speak with Alan & he will certainly look after you.

Alan Walker
Eastern Sporting
Unit 3, The Bringey
Church Street
Great Baddow
Essex
CM2 7JW

Tel: 01245 478905

web: Eastern Sporting

Do we get it cheaper if we have our own guns/amunition?

Does the £48 + VAT include food/drink?

Also i have never worn ear plugs/glasses before, so does this club have these as a rule? I do find wearing glasses can be very off-putting if you are not a glasses wearer.:D

Sorry for all the questions.

Scotty.

- for those with their own guns, we can do groups of 6 paying for just the clays, though if you're with me I can get through 200 clays in an hour ;)

- The £48 plus vat includes:
What is provided:

* Ear plugs
* Eye protection
* Gun & ammunition
* Instructor per 6 people
* Light refreshments - bacon butty in the morning, tea/coffee

- new legislation states you must wear eye & ear protection, all clubs throughout the UK have to abide by this. However, should you choose not to, as some do: your risk, your fine if caught ;)

Sorry for all the questions.
- no issues with those :)

And a free back to the top :)
