Our offices are on the same road as two schools.

Come 3.30pm it's complete and utter chaos.

Part off the road is only wide enough for two cars ie no kerb parking. Thus, we have double yellow lines down it.

However, come kicking out time, the parents park anywhere and everywhere to wait for their brats. They often park on the double yellows completing screwing up the traffic flow.

I've sat in my car for 10 or 15 minutes trying to get past and end up beating the crap out of my steering wheel in frustration.

The last laugh is mine though.....

BT came to see me today about our new Genus Megastream line. They will have to dig up our road (and any others in a 2 mile radius by the sound of it) to lay some new ducting for the second fibre feed. Being responsible for the forthcoming traffic jams is quite satisfying.

Yesssssssssss! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Further to the comment that in the US you can't pass a school bus. You can't pass in in either direction when it stops and the orange lights are flashing. Recently saw 6 lanes of traffic (3 each way) stop for a school bus in New Jersey. It was impressive to see.

Also, apparently, children are statistically more at risk from injury if they are driven to school than if they walk or cycle. That says something for sure...
