LOL its cos the car's unobtrusive now without a blitz on it, you're not used to seeing me in something a bit quieter now lol. You won't see me for a few days now anyway cos the maf sensors gone again. Gonna get a new oxygen sensor while I'm at it and see if that stops the maf from blowing. Dump valve on its way too, hopefully (Jase!! - grrr!!) LOL

Mrboost 03 September 2007 08:33 AM

Well for the few who new I had sold the STI and went T5 Mad, well I'm back Got myself a rather slower scooby now, UK Wagon, keeping it rather stock for now. Will keep a look out.

dazdavies 03 September 2007 09:36 AM

Hey Marcus,

How ya doing mate?
Not long till my lil beauty is out eating Doncaster tarmac again!!

I've just bought this http://www.scoob.co.uk/rebuild/newturbo.jpg

Just need to get the rotated up pipe, down pipe and external waste gate sorted and she's done :D

Marx Mcrae 04 September 2007 07:06 PM

Hey up Daz im ok actually, craving more power though. Not quite as much as your going for though.
Crikey thats a big turbo!!! :o
When you hoping to get it on the road for??
Do you wanna help me fit an STi8 IC to mine when I get one?? Apparently there a bit of a pig to fit but worth it in the long run

Marx Mcrae 04 September 2007 07:10 PM

Mrboost, what colour and year you got?? I'll keep my eyes peeled for ya

dazdavies 05 September 2007 11:34 AM

Its going to be a little while longer before mine hits the road, as i'm going for the Power station stage 3 suspension setup, then i want to get the AP six pots on.

Intercooler wise for you, don't piss about with top mounts get a front mount.
Autobahn 88 ones are excellent and can be had on ebay for just under £300 from a uk supplier delivered including vat.

Forget all this bollix about the extra lag its a myth if you get the right setup.

I had a VF28 on mine with the autobahn front mount and there was little or no difference in spool up time but because of the lower intake temps it pulled so much more harder.

I promise you that if you buy one and dont like it I'll buy the bugger off you as a spare.

Daz

ahhhh, thats cleared something up for me then, as i was considering a fmic too. but really to compensate for the pipe work and supposed extra lag, i need a bigger turbo.

new addition to the shopping list

Marx Mcrae 06 September 2007 06:09 PM

I've heard a few horrer stories about Autobahn intercoolers, apparently the rot quite quickly. Was actually thinking of getting a Hybrid fmic or like I said an STi8 tmic.
Problem with fitting a fmic to mine is that none of them are a direct fit for my car, so I would need to cut or extend some of the pipe work.

Marx Mcrae 07 September 2007 10:36 PM

How come where ever I go, be it London or Manchester or just local in Donny/Rotherham noone ever notices me, I see all these cars around so at least 1 of them must be on here!!!!

dazdavies 09 September 2007 09:31 PM

I've got an Autobahn on mine.

Its been running at 1.6 bar for two years. Now I'm speaking from actual experience not scaremongering hearsay :D

Its soon going to have 2bar thrown at it from a built 2.5 bottom end we'll see how it copes then :D
