Only one really...

19 Aug 2001. The birth of my daughter (first child). Life has not been the same since. It's got a whole lot better :D :D :D

Roger The Cat 02 January 2002 01:31 PM

Just the one major and fantastic lifechanging experience this year, the birth of Molly Elizabeth 12th March 01, 6.36am......and discovering that the car seat does fit in the back of the wagon having persuaded wifey that a wagon scoob provides a sensible mix of family practicality and performance in November 2000!!

simon_prickett 02 January 2002 01:41 PM

Finding out my wife was pregnant, which is not something we were expecting!

Latest Scooby mod = Britax car seat, occupant due March 2002!

Simon.

Steve001 02 January 2002 01:46 PM

Registering with ScoobNet, great fun, loads of advice etc etc....

All The Best

Little Miss WRX 02 January 2002 02:57 PM

Yes I forgot to add the "hiccup" that we had in your car over the *Rollercoaster* Rich  LOL

astraboy 02 January 2002 06:46 PM

As I have already stated to the collective, it was the worst year of my life! I happy to get out with all my bits intact! :D
1/ losing my girlie :(:(:(:(:(:(
2/ Getting a hernia and not being able to go raving :(
3/ My gran dying :(:(:(:(
4/ and other stuff I cant really mention on here cos its not 100% confirmed yet.
However, same as Bob, it really did pick up toward the end.
I managed to go to elation AND Slammin Vinyl in december and enjoyed them immensly :D
I had a smal windfall which enabled me to really enjoy the above :D
so I suppose that made the bad period better. I just hope 2002 isnt going to sh1t on me from a great height now :D
astraboy.

Bitten Hero 02 January 2002 08:48 PM

Here's hoping for a better year for you AstraBoy...

Been quite a good year for me...

1) Got PPP fitted to my MY00 and only paid £1400 including fitting and everything from new :D:D Thanks guys, you know who you are! What a fantastic mod :):)
2) Got itchy feet and looked for a new job - ended up at the Jordan F1 team! :D:D
3) Gained a girlfriend :)
4) Lost her again (mutual methinks) :)
5) Organised various meets, runs, etc and met loads of really nice people - both familiar faces (the local Cambridge & East Anglia peeps) and new ones (those who came along to say hello!) :D Still firmly of the belief that ScoobyNet is terrific.
6) Reading of other people's misfortunes :( :( Michelle springs to mind as one of many sad tales on here, AstraBoy another... well we all wish that life is substantially kinder to you this year.

That goes for everyone too - all the best for 2002! And here's to some Jordan victories ;) :D

Cheers
Richard

Little Miss WRX 02 January 2002 09:09 PM

LOL I hope you didn't mean that the way I read it LOL :D

Mine isn't really a sad story I think of it more as character building :)

dba 02 January 2002 11:26 PM

had a few,but going on track with the great plane-spotter himself,Docjock :D ;)

Jerome 03 January 2002 10:31 AM

Not a good year for me...

1. My Grandmother (my last remaining grandparent) dying
2. My father having a mild heart attack.
3. My girlfriend losing £25k because someone backed out of a deal (after hundreds being spent on solicitors )
4. The Reuters share price dropping through the floor and making my Millennium bonus (in share options) virtually worthless (I couldn't exercise the option until September 24th this year!)
5. Having to put the Scoob in storage because of 3 & 4. :(
6. My former manager shafting me with respect to a payrise and getting away with it.
7. My company announcing a 5% cut in staff (with another round of redundancies likely in 2002)
8. Spending an entire year worrying about money.

Good riddance to 2001. Here's hoping 2002 is a good year...

MATTeL 03 January 2002 10:57 AM

1. Getting hold of the MY01, by first Scooby and certainly not the last.
2. Finding Scoobynet.
3. Going to Brighton with the Sussex/Surry/Kent lunatics becuase that led to...
4. The Isle of Wight which was one of the strangest and funniest weekends I can remember, that combined with the driving (navigation? Pah let us go in that direction for a while!) and the people.
5. My sister getting out of her old company and starting in a new one for more money, respect and responsibility. That and the threats and checking under the car stopping. (Scary story that will not be told in here, ever)
6. Survivng the 30th birthday
7. The dancing hamster! :D

RoShamBo 03 January 2002 12:54 PM

Good.....
Waching my 2 daughters grow.
Continuing to enjoy my job.
Having a healthy 2001 for my whole family.

Bad......
September 11th.....absolutely terrible. 3,000 people dead in minutes.

Ro.

Jerry* 03 January 2002 01:26 PM

A totally fcuked up year on the whole for me I'm afraid...

1) Brother currently in intensive care after chronic asthma attack
2) Father underwent heart op that wasn't successful
3) Major probs with parents' own business
4) Some dishonest pr1ck drove into my car whilst parked and then
cleared off
5) September 11th etc..

Totally cr4p !!

Couple of good things... Other brother got married in November and I got introduced to Scoobynet and trackdays by Tom (Rum*)..

I really hope 2002 brings better news..

Sorry for the doom'n'gloom, all the best to everyone on the BBS

Cheers,

John
