if anyone does know where this car is for sale tell me where it is and i would def consider buying it . it is virtually impossible to put a cat b car on the road as all accident damage is recorded with the dvla and the category of the damage will be shown on the log book for all to see . which makes near impossible to sell as non damaged .

Have you seen the pics on the first page? You would buy a car that has been smashed like that.:brickwall :(

Scoobyscootz; apologies if you think the post was scaremongering that certainly wasn’t the intention :( This is the first time I have had direct knowledge of a car like this which will almost certainly be back on the market and thought I should make people aware. I will give more information if that helps.
We sold the car originally and after the accident the owner was not sure where to send the car so the recovery company returned it to us while the insurance company did their work.

On collection the Salvage firm said that they take all of the insurance company right offs for around 30% of the payout value. Sometimes they loose out but most of the time they can make on it especially if they get a high value car with relatively little damage.

The next we hear is a phone call from the new owner/company that bought it from the Salvage yard and that it is back on the road. They only need one part, could we supply 1 17” Type-RA alloy!!! It was this idea that if only need one wheel (having seen the others) that got me concerned and hence why I thought it would be useful to post up.

Look on the bright side, maybe the car that is 'back on the road' is a ringer or a tarted up STi using this cars details, and so isn't a deathtrap :lol1:

Jeez!

You try and do the right thing and people complain about it.

The first post was spot on in my opinion. If you find an RA that you think is too cheap (or any RA), check with Ian.

Ian knew the facts, put up his first post on the basis of those facts and there was no need to put up more, unless you were interested in buying an RA???

He has been proved right and received no apology?????

This isn't a 'Cruze-innit' forum!!!
