Advert has done its job, partly, it got us talking about it.

I quite like it except the singing, i hate muscials with a passion!

You think of Skoda 10+ years ago, crappy brand selling crappy cars built on eastern Europe bought by people who could not afford real cars. OK they had some rally herititage and won their class each year but they where the only ones in that class!

Now Skoda produces a full range of cars built on VW platforms which compete favourably with europes finest.

The Skoda brand hardly has any of the old stigmas attached to it, it just needs to establish itself in the same way VW has, it offers a similar range to similiar demographics.

No.
It obvioulsy worked from the point of view of people talking about Skoda's.
The ad even got a half page spread in one of the tabloids today.
Nik.

...and a 2 page spread in the Mail today....

Its damn annoying.

We have a Fabia as a company car, along with a Focus and 2 Toyota Avensis's.

Everyone goes for the Toya's or the Ford. The Skoda redlines at 4k5 rpm!!!

Mine redlines at 6500 rpm. That's because it's a petrol engine, not a diesel :rolleyes:

I like the nissan one where they use the car as skateboard.

Nice one Skoda.Seems the advert did exactly what you wanted too.

(Still prefer the one with the 'big' gymnast though)

SlimJ_2005 23 May 2007 01:00 PM

Watching it for the first time I thought it was going to be a Honda advert, they're normally the ones to do adverts that grab your attention.

Bet the advert took quite a lot of planning and time to film!

Genius idea though, it grabs your attention, you watch it right through then talk about it... marketing at its best!

Thought that might be the case. You would probably need to use a lot of de-icer prior to driving off.

I like it :)

I went to the launch at our local Skoda dealers.

Only real Fabia's no cake ones but even so they seem a nice package for the money although the Roomster style front end isn't to my liking.

The advertisers have done a great job, the newspapers are full of the advert, people are discussing it at work and nearly every uk internet forum has a Skoda Fabia advert thread.

There's a "Baking of Documentary" at The new Skoda Fabia. Full of lovely stuff

The guys should be on a big bonus.

Cheers
Lee

 On topic again, marketing is big business and adverts can make or break companies. Just ask Marks and Spencer.
