Well if you're up against a nice blue bugeye with scottish-jim on the side then keep the handbrake on and launch in 2nd gear.

Does that go for everyone Jim, or just SleeperSy? ;)

If you rig up a freeze spray system to use on the line or get a mate to spray it seconds before you launch it may help, otherwise its gonna heat straight back up again in the queue.

Hi Dill,

Im my local supermarket they sell freeze spray for sports injuries etc.......

I was thinking of getting a few of these, and as you say, get a mate to spray on the intercooler whilst in the queue - my only worry is causeing the intercooler to split, by spraying freeze spray ont hot metal - do you think this is a risk?

If its a hot day how do you keep the intercooler cool, as all your doing is short runs- do some of you spray it with freeze spray or similar?

I'd keep your bonnet up till last minute and get a £1.99 plant squirter from B+Q to fill with water and coat it just before you drop your bonnet.

That should do the job :thumb: but i wouldn't worry about it to much
