James May was on radio 1 this morning saying that Jezza was misquoted and that of course they'd be back on later in the year

How can Jezza say Top Gear will not return? He doesn't own it and the brand is trade marked internationally by the BBC. He might not be on it, but that's another story.

As for Top Gear being a gold mine internationally, it is not. They license the TV programme and magazine to many countries, but revenues on this kind of publishing are very small indeed, relatively speaking. Especially when each edition of Top Gear has one of the beeb's biggest budgets, like £150k per episode.

Richard.

What did you expect them to do? Most of the cars that they would have shot reviews for would have been released and out of date by the time Hamster got on his feet again.

So, if you don't like their back up tv you can turn it off. Really is that simple!!

Not actually true - the filming at Dunsfold aerodrome is still continuing although there have and will always be complaints. Dunsfold is a small village in Surrey, just off the A281 and south of the village of Bramley where I have just moved from. The aerodrome is fairly rural but there are enough people around who don;t like the fact that the show has increased in popularity thus there is more testing, more noise etc, added to the fact that Dunsfold owners want to improve the site with other businesses etc - all of which means the one and only link road, the A281, gets more traffic than it already has.

The borough council are smart enough to see that it's a valuable building block (not literally) and while they make the right noises, nothing has yet been stopped. A few slapped wrists at times I think but everything still seems to be going on fine.
