BTTT.

Kiwi - your predictions are about as good as those of pslewis & Middlesboro :lol1:

KiwiGTI 11 February 2007 12:04 PM

Well, one-dayers aren't real cricket anyway. :)

 Hope you had a substantial bet on England losing :)

There's nothing like seeing the smug smile disappear from an Antipodean face. :D

Indeed :).

Perhaps you could predict the all blacks winning the RWC for us ;):D

Leslie 12 February 2007 12:41 PM

Just as well we are such a magnanimous race isn't it Kiwi. You might never live it down otherwise!

Les :D

Mind you, this has certainly made me feel better.

yeah, I went to the game - as per the report, the weather was cold and the only Aussie player of note was McGrath - I would definitely say it was the Aussie 'B' Team, the 'A' team being rested up for the World Cup in the West Indies.

But must say that Bond played a blinder ...

There is no doubt Australia bottled it and threw a winnable game away. They collapsed embarrasingly. But somehow the NZ press are now describing the Kiwi team with words like "redoubtable", "powerful", "magnificent" etc

I guess a week is a long time in cricket... I suppose you think you're going to win the World Cup now! :lol1:

That's ripe from a pommie.

"Johnny's back, we're going to win the RWC"
"Our England cricket team are just peaking, ready to win the world cup"

and the classic every 2/4 years

"I really think it's Englands time to win the World Cup/Euro, we've got the best players etc"

Leslie 17 February 2007 12:22 PM

Good to see your team stick it to the Aussies anyway:)

Les

Well, at least I can rightly claim that England are the current rugby union World Champions.

Now let me think, what are the kiwis good at, bearing in mind that your highest earning 'sportsman' is Tiger Woods' caddy! :lol1:

... errr, no - it's Michael Campbell who won the US Open

Daryl 18 February 2007 09:47 AM

...errr, that was in 2005. Anyway, like any kiwi who wants to get on in life, he's adopted England as his home!

Daryl 18 February 2007 09:55 AM

Congratulations on beating the Aussi reserves again - one day you might be able to beat their first team, like England did. ;)

philc 18 February 2007 10:52 AM

Aussies don't like losing to the Kiwis so it'll still upset them, plus they've lost the series and have now been knocked off the ICC number 1 spot.

markr1963 18 February 2007 01:18 PM

Kiwi's right. The Aussies hate losing, period. Being beaten by us 2-0 then by the Black Caps 2-0 is gonna hurt, reserve side or not.
The aussie media is more fickle than the UK's if that's possible.

Friday's demolition of the Aussie's was sweet but today's match was better still.

It's put a bit of a spark into the World Cup too which can't be bad.

philc 20 February 2007 09:14 AM

woo-hoo! Kiwis complete 3 -0 whitewash of the Aussies !!!

(please excuse my un-English display of exuberance :) )

Hell of a win for the Kiwi's that....

Hayden looks like he'll miss a lump of the world cup too...

Daryl 20 February 2007 10:34 AM

Yeah, it was a great match, with a very exciting end, well done the Black Caps!

Nice to see the Aussies suffering, too. :lol1:

Without their best players - Ponting, Gilchrist, Symonds, Lee, Warne etc, they look quite ordinary. Hopefully, it'll mean that the World Cup won't just be a victory parade for them.

I think we're looking at the most open WC ever !!

Leslie 21 February 2007 03:33 PM

I thought it was an outstanding match, went right to the wire and it was great to see the Kiwis win.

Les :)
