ha ha ha what race? you Liverpool fans crack me up. Do you seriously think a team like Man Utd or Chelsea are going to go on such a bad run (at the same time) such that to allow Liverpool to take the league title?

Your 11 points back and no talent to make them up.

A seriously pissed of Man Utd fan.

Chelsea are wobbling right now, no two ways about it. As for ManUre two losses and a couple of draws, who knows. Us no talent, we're oozing it, just check out the form guide for the past two months !

Tough week ahead of us now though, with RvP out :-|
Just so long as we don't get knocked out by the scum next Wednesday

As much as I love my team, I'm not usually one for excuses. These things happen in football and we have to pick ourselves up - but we will do, don't you worry. ;)

However, I would like you all to note that it's the end of January and we're still sitting pretty at the top of the Premiership, and still six points ahead of an imploding Chelsea side - if you'd have offered me that at the start of the season, I'd have bitten your hand off.

For those thinking this weekend blew the title race open, get real. :D

ash1 22 January 2007 11:37 PM

not dreaming tables here, you look up the past 10 games. Whats impressive is 1 goal conceded in over 900 mins of football (thats over 15 hours)

We've conceded 3 goals at home in the league ! last one back in October. Unreal.

Its been done before with 12 points, dont see a problem with 11 myself.

They've yet to visit Stamford Bridge too, a draw there would be nice:thumb:

I must say I'd rather have our last dozen games than either United's or Chelsea's:thumb:

Lets hope we dont get the backlash from that defeat in the FA cup on Saturday ...........

I will be there singing my heart out.

Play Up Pompey

Hmmmm. So Liverpool have managed to claw back 3 points over Man Utd. over the last 10 games.

That means that on current form you'll be due to overtake us in about 37 games' time. :D

ash1 23 January 2007 03:53 PM

beats me how you're still top, all goals coming from midfield.

before the weekend the door was clearly shut, now its opened a little. With the run in there is hope, especially after that crushing defeat on Sunday. .

I doubt that very much ........... Oh unless you score of course, then you might have a little 5 minute cheer. You wont go on longer, it might give you a sore throat, then your prawn sarny will be hard to eat. God forbid :D :D :D

94impreza 24 January 2007 09:33 AM

Lol, this makes me laugh. Its possible for any of the top4 to still win. For the pool to overtake us we'd need to lose 4 of 14, and they would have to win every game until the end of the season. Considering your away form you don't stand much chance of that.
A few Liverpool fan's need bringing back to earth, it wasn't that you played so fantastic against Chelski, just that they played so awful. Please remember you were beaten by Blackburn a few weeks ago and lost twice on the trot to Arse.
As for the Utd/Arse game, we should have known better than play for a draw, Heinze shouldn't have come on, Ronaldo shouldn't have come off. Giggs was a liability, Park considering he was involved in all three goals with Carrick last week would have been a better option. Saha should have replaced Larsson earlier. Evra was outstanding for us, how Henry got man of the match over Evra when he was missing for 91minutes of the game and Rosicky got Sun Star Player when he skied it more than 50 times is beyond me.
Personnally i think Rio was dire, and possibly he should be shown the door soon. Vidic is far better in centre, and Nev's and Evra make a very good defence, but then Ferdinand makes a massive gap, i'd have prefered Brown.

Chelski fan's bleat on about Terry being the reason they are losing. They seem to forget that he played agaist Spurs when they lost and played when Chelsea started to drop points in 3 draws.
There's no doubt Liverpool will have a more consistent end to the season, seen as they are out of 2/4 competitions and look likely to be knocked out of the CL. Concertrating on one competition will always give better results.

You're actually going to the shabbiest ground in the Premiership, I read somewhere they're going to redevelope it, turn the pitch round and redevelop 2 or 3 sides, although that was whilst the Mandarin was still there.

Losing to the Arse not a disgrace, especially when one is a reserve game, even table toppers lose to the Arse. Who knows, couple of defeats, a few draws and anything could happen. Past defeats not an indication of future games, think thats down to form.

As for Saturday's game, I thought we played well in both halves. Not our best performance, but you've always a chance if you keep a clean sheet.

We can beat Barca over two legs too, just need a polished performance in first leg at Nou camp. Think you undermine Rafa's ability in Europe.

Considering you were knocked out of the FA cup you'd think you wouldn't put out reserves in the Carling, just to keep you in one if the CL went tits up. To think 2 weeks ago how embarassed 'pool fans were of being beaten twice in a week, one win and its talk of being able to catch up with utd.
Consider that utd have lost twice to Arse this season, the only other defeat coming at West Ham. Which to me was obvious, new managers always come in with a win. Utd have been consistent, whereas the rest of the top 4 haven't. Its hard to believe we will drop our consistency mid-season, and that everyone else will suddenly become unbeatable.
I personnally have written off the Anfield and Stamford bridge games, put them down as losses early, with that in mind we drop to level points with Chelsea. Its up to us to again be consistent enough to keep winning and watch the rest drop points against mediocre sides like they have done time and time again.
